lot of fun designs. it's kind of depressing to see such amount of work not put to any use. but at least the artist can show it off and i'm sure it was fun to work on. i wonder if the assets could ever be sold in any capacity?
yeah i mean, the character is clearly a gag. the chin is a ballsack, the nose is cock and balls. its hideous. It is hilarious. but it is a lot more difficult to make an appealing character, compared to a hideous one.
Hi there guys! I have a question here for Paul . Could you please tell how did you make such clean and even seam lines like on a picture? I hope you are not doing them by hands o_O. .
These were made in 3ds max first, which allowed me to make creases easily. But I did some in zbrush using the following method:
Mask your edge loop with zmodeler
With transpose selected Crtl + scale the loop so it pushes along the vertex normal
I think you have to distinguis between walls present "inside" and "outside" the grid like so:
While choosing the orange grid (like you did) with walls on the grid lines and use smalle edge "fillings" or use the orange grid an having the walls in the center of the grid to have some more "substance" to handle. On the outside on this inside walls now you maye position some outside walls if you want using the same technic. So "the grid" just has to be choosen on the circumstances.
It is standard procedure to deny embargoed/warfaring countries and or areas access to dual-use items/ non listed dual-use goods.
3D Software can fall into the above mentioned dual use categories.
When you can´t ensure its not falling into the hands of the other side, it might be ruled to deny it to both sides.
ZBrush can be used for mold tooling, has its uses in CNC and surface machining, for the usage with filamentary materials.
DCC tools can thus easily be used or repurposed into being useful tools for warfare.
Many 3D programs and hardware products have stipulations that it can´t be used for war purposes.
Sometimes you can obtain a separate license for military purposes with a lot of vetting and additionally government approvement.
Maxon/ Nemetschek Group sells multiple DCC tools not only ZBrush and is
using payment systems which have to adhere to the set rules of
embargoes. that also goes the other way, VISA and Mastercard also put thier rules on those which use thier payment systems.
It is Imo not shady practice, more being cautious and adhering to the law be it international law or within the EU.
