Agreed, especially regarding the bedroom and the professor layton piece looking great.
The only thing that stood out negatively to me immediately was the UV layout of the market stand. There doesn't seem to be a good reason to have the tabletops/shelves rotated at 45 degrees and have the edges stick out that way, only to have one or two small seams less (but if it fits, it fits, so that's less of a problem than the angle). Then you have two of the tabletops/shelves when you don't have shadows baked in.
The whole piece offers many opportunities for texture reuse but seems to be mapped completely uniquely (without making full use of that, either, meaning, you could basically have the same effect with repeating textures).
Dungeon Entrance seems to be the piece where the most thoughts seem to have gone into optimization techniques (at least going by what you show), but I agree that the first impression isn't as strong as with some of the other works.
The animated versions of some scenes have so little movement that they almost seem superfluous. Might save bandwidth, but perhaps you could move the camera a bit, after all these are realtime 3D scenes.
The shop game is something you could link in a general "about" section to show related skills. The sauce jar looks great, btw., but the separate shot has filtering for some reason (different from everything else).
"I'm a fine art graduate" is pretty vague. Either it´s relevant, then be specific, or it's not, then don't mention it.

I'd suggest hiding the projects in your portfolio that I've put a red x on. You've got some neat art in there The bedroom and the clock are my favourites. Keep pushing forward. A lot of your art has a blocky vibe going on, maybe break out of that and start giving meshes curves and more interesting shapes that stray away from primitive shapes. Try putting more effort into unique and time consuming hand painting for more polished texturing looks. Pick up ZBrush and try some fun stylized sculpting.

Well, not only do creative people not like that it is in the mix but it also didn't take long at all for the tech to get a very bad rep in the broader public as well. And since anyone with a smartphone (from Linkedin middle-managers and AI-bros ... to any old grandma) can prompt img2img slop instantly, pretty much everyone can tell that "something looks AI" by now without the need for a watermark. Regular CG also gets (mistakenly) lumped in, so the challenge for people making a living from beauty renders isn't going to be about indicating which % of their images was "humanly art-directed" with a watermark or some verbose footnotes, but rather to convince their clients and the public that they did any work at all ...
On the topic of archviz in particular, interestingly enough I was just chatting with someone whose previous job involved interfacing between architecture firms and archiv firms and she mentioned that there is a trend towards a return to renderings that are much less advanced and polished since realistic but overly polished and glamourous images end up being not quite representative of the actual final project and clients are fed up with this. Therefore, a renewed interest in a more simple or even sketched look.
TwoListen hit the nail on the head really : people who don't use AI can simply say they don't use it. IMHO It's up to the AI-bros so in love with their already tired yellow backlit images to not get left behind and adapt to the fact that their ship has sailed !
Lastly, the type of responses you are getting here is because this is a real-time gameart forum. That is to say : a line of CG that is about an order of magnitude more complex than archviz (no offense). People here know very well how tech works and aren't easily impressed.

Re: Normal map low poly artifact
@HAWK12HT Would you mind uploading the low poly and high poly for just that component? I'd like to take a look at how it bakes in Toolbag.
Here's the result of the baking tests: (All tests use an 8bit 2k texture and 4x sampling.)
Adjusting the triangulation to remove the long thin triangles and adding a few vertices alongside of the raised feature reduced the amount of normal gradation and visible artifacts. Adding an edge split at the base of the raised feature also removed most of the normal gradation and visible artifacts.
There's some minor artifacts that remain in both of these but given the scale of the object and the addition of high frequency normal details this is probably good enough. Simplifying some of the geometry and softening or exaggerating the raised feature could help further reduce normal issues.
Adding additional support loops reduced the normal gradation but increased the number of visible artifacts along the triangulated edges of the low poly. Adding another hard edge and UV split along the top of the raised area further reduced the gradation and removed most of the visible normal artifacts.
If there's a technical requirement for minimal mesh splits and contiguous UV layouts then adding some geometry to even out the smoothing behavior and increasing the texture size to 4k will resolve most of baking artifacts and the high frequency details in the normal textures should cover the rest.
Face weighted normals would be another option that reduces normal gradation and artifacts while maintaining a contiguous UV layout with adding extra geometry.

I'm not sure why any leeway is given towards generative AI. The sampling methods in the largest LLMs were sourced without artist consent. It is the largest, most flagrant mass theft of intellectual property in humanity's history, piracy included, and chucks morality and dignity in the fucking trash compactor

Thank you for taking the time to review my website. I can definitely see where you're coming from. These are adjustments I will make and update my site to be more readable and cut to the point. As for my title as a 3D Generalist, should I not have a generalist reel? I watched a few #D Generalist demo reels on YouTube for reference before I started. Your front page doesn't feel like a portfolio but the pitch for why someone should hire your company to do something. But you're not a company...
You have a lot of text explaining what the different 3D disciplines are. This is a total waste of space - anyone looking at your portfolio is from one of those industries and doesn't need it explained to them.
I would ditch that big banner - It takes up a ton of space and means I have to scroll down before I see your work.
This is the view I have of your page without scrolling. No work to immediately look at and cut-off text at the bottom. In fact, the important text (Home, About, Resume etc) is difficult to see and very small.
Its not your 'talent gallery' - its your portfolio. Just call it that.
A 1 minute showreel covering everything isn't ideal. Having individual ones covering your different skills is better IMO. Also, ditch the music.
Your arch viz and product rendering are definitely your strongest works, but overall I think you have way too much big text.
I click on Product rendering and all I see is a huge text block explaining what I don't need to know, and cut off images at the bottom.
Overall, I think you need to do more showing, less explaining. Don't make anyone scroll down to actually find your work.

As I promised, here is my article. I want to point out that yeah, I used generative AI on some stages, but I really believe that other than environmental damage it done, it was used pretty rationally and ethical. This is, in my opinion, an example of reasonable usage in production. In any case, I am open to debate.

Anyhow can't imagine what it must be like creating content let alone living day to day in a warzone so congrats btw getting this far also do hope you finish this project - Stay Safe

[WIP] Male Bust for Portfolio
Hello! I'm starting a new piece for my portfolio, an Au Ra (part human, part reptile/dragon) from FFXIV. My primary goals are to learn to make game-ready eyes with illusion of depth using a height map, and to get more practice laying down hair cards and capturing likeness.
I'm currently still working on the sculpt before I move to Blender to make the hair cards and retopologize. He will be rigged to match the position of the original artwork after textures, and I'm planning to render him in Unreal Engine. I'd appreciate any feedback on him, especially his likeness!
