@ATaylor96 your blockout looks better than my final high poly!

@klamante - that model is looking very clean great work! Not too chaotic to me!

@crayz4pnutz - all of your modeling looks solid. Unless I am getting tricked by the field of view/perspective, it looks a lot longer than the concept. I think it would help with the realism by shrinking down the overall length of your model. Great work so far!

@EtotheRic - your binos are looking really good. love the imperfections and damage.

@loon27 - that's looking really good so far! I'm digging the thick handle.

Also realized we haven't really shared much on gameplay, should probably do that once we have some UI in  . Speaking of, we've started doing some mockups for UI, it will probably be temporary until the final version release but for now it's this. The logo is also not even close to final but the vibes are here

trying to do something simple that has some fun little interactions. We have cats in the game of course so using them will be fun XD.
Some screens of the gameplay will have to do for now. I only did the wall patterns for this, Alex will have to forgive me showing his stuff lol

We have purchasing and shelving books implemented. Shoppers will come in, pick out books, take them to the cashier, and buy them. All the cashier stuff also works and you can hire people. We're mostly working on animations and gameplay balance atm as well as some bug fixing and refactoring on the engineering side. And at some point we have lots and lots of books to make lol

It looks like some parts of your design different from the original concept.
I can only offer some subjective thoughts on the design and functionality

For the wires, I think the shape could be a bit smoother and simpler.
The bottom charging contact seems a bit too thick—would that make the flashlight unstable or wobbly when placed down? (Just a thought about functionality!)

The blockout stage is done, and I’ve already set up edge loops for some parts of the high-poly model.
Next, I’ll continue adding more details to the high-poly model.

Hey this is looking cool. I think your current render is looking a bit flat, the ground in particular is looking very low resolution.

Time for hi res.
First time trying out Blender's Cloth brushes. It took a while, and I still don't quite understand how to control the results.
The resolution of the mesh influences the size of the folds - can't get small folds if there's no geo there, but at the same time, it seems hi res geo can only result in small ones.
Drawing XYZ-folds beforehand seems to almost guarantee that these will get reinforced by the simulation though.



I do love using floating geo for seams. So crisp. So far had no issues baking them, though my previous tests were more stylized.
But it only feeds my indecisiveness (and slows down performance eventually), so maybe I should turn these to meshes sooner rather than later ='D

It occurs to me, that I should've put a firm time limit. It's not like I'm in a hurry, but there are other things I want to try sometime in this lifetime.
With this in mind, I'm wrapping up "blockout" stage. I thought about adding armour, but I'll leave it for later. There enough new things here to learn as it is.

Baking basic lighting information is a fine technique used by many. If you feel it will help then do it.

Bobo used to have a texturing tutorial where he did just that.

Best suggestion would be to look up tutorials on how to paint metals, not swords in particular, then apply the knowledge here. You're off to an acceptable start, though I highly suggest ditching the green runes till you get the metal further along. the contrast in color and saturation pulls the eye, but also dominates and flattens the piece. Perhaps start with the runes inlaid or etched out of the blade, and if you REALLY think it needs it later, then make them glow again.
