Huh, haven't updated this in a WHILE. I only published one project last year so it seems time to share it again. I spent some time playing about with Unreal's hair strand physics and will continue playing with it this year. https://www.artstation.com/artwork/Nyl3QJ
Spent awhile developing the biomechanical structures that open and close the face plates. They are opened by 'arms' that have locking joints and double as mandibles. A strong length of sinew in the back adds support, and is what snaps the plates back together. More polish and a bit of proportion work was done as well.
Hello! My name is Harry, I'm currently a student at university and decided to take part in this challenge I have gone with the flashlight prop and this is my progress so far! Any feedback would be really appreciated, thank you!
I’m excited to share my latest artwork with you! It’s been a project I’ve worked hard on over the past few months and I’m happy to finally show it. This piece represents my growth as an artist, and I hope it connects with you in some way. I hope you enjoy it.
This tank from the first link (Ben Bolton) is so nice, thanks for digging this up !
Reading up on it agin in his original thread , he is achieving this look by baking from very simple highs and then scaling down the resulting textures by a factor of 8 (from 2048 down to 256). Really inspiring work.
alright idea you got cooking, you can tell if the hand is small by putting it up to the head i think if i remember its of the dome its lowest palm nearest wrist to bottom of chin and the middle finger of the hand reaches the middle to top of the head? Now to do a search for the ref : to make it easier do it yourself on a mirror and make your size hands. (were it lands on your facial landmarks) and do it that way for better visual. If you have a female to ask you can have her do it also.
There's not really much you can do about it unfortunately.
Pretty much any job you look at will have hundreds of people applying within hours of the job ad being posted so you wont be getting away from that even if you change careers. AI is threatening all fields so there's no getting away from that either unless you want to go into a trade like plumbing. As far as the layoffs go, thats hitting a number of different fields including tech as a whole. And I mean what would you really switch to?
And then there is the issue of starting over with low pay until you can work your way up, which could be a problem depending on where your currently at in life. Your probably better off staying in 3D IMO.
Thanks @Noren! Now that I got him into an environment I could definitely see pushing some highlights a bit more. I appreciate the feedback!
@Vexod14 Thanks! I think I've mentioned this to you somewhere on here before but I really enjoy following your progress on Redemption and your texture work is excellent!
@iam717 Thanks and I appreciate the suggestion! Time was definitely a factor as I had already spent a long time working on him in my spare time and then he got placed on the backburner for a bit. I figured it was better to just finish him in whatever capacity that meant rather than let him fall into the deep dark folder of unfinished works, lol.
