This scares me:

social media, the hunt for fame an money wrecked that, together with gumroad.
while i do understand the urge to make a living from ones outputs, i do think these sorta wrecked the whole free sharing momentum we had back in the days.

Passion sometime ago started to be exploited by "entrepreneurs". free art test etc were used to get things for free. So everyone started demanding cash for everythig. That was very clear in 2D less in 3D but still. Now there is complete lack of trust. Passion was monetized and abused to the point that no one wants to coop anymore. That was not a problem when everyone knew everyone and exploiters were easy to pinpoint but now its a massive industry. Things like job postigs being in fact data hoarding scams are new normal. Finding people you can trust and depend on online is almost imposible now. Social media promoting "how to start" and not how to finish is a second thing. its realy hard to find good quality knowledge as well. Everyone is starting out. Easy sketchy solutions that are good for most starters will be on top of search because it generates more views, so we averaging down

Im like *this week* fresh to the forum and I've been super impressed by all the resources here. This place is a treasure trove of knowledge and information. But I was only able to get here through Pinterest, funnily enough! It might help to set up a community youtube channel, maybe?
