Hey everyone!! The Gearbox Art Team has prepared some images of some of the art that went into Borderlands 2. Having worked with this team for 2 years now, I have to say that they are nothing short of AMAZING!!!! ENJOY!!

Some of us don't have a Polycount name so I'll be posting their art work for them.

Hey Polycount! I made some of the enemies and NPCs for Borderlands, along with a bunch of smaller props! I'm really excited to show my work off. Though I am only showin' the sculpts off for the characters, I also modeled and textured these assets as well.

Nerf Bat Ninja - The only thing that's derived from a shader is the black outline around all objects in the game. As far as inking goes, that's all done by hand. Sometimes for organic stuff we'll run a glow edges on our normal map, invert, desaturate, then adjust brightness/contrast to get a base. But by the time we're done inking, all of that is usually gone. It just marks the areas that should probably get some inks. As far as the inking goes, there aren't really any shortcuts for this texture style. We all have carpal tunnel, lol!

Yeah, this thread got pretty damn heavy... I hope we didn't break it...

bounchfx - Everyone models and textures their own assets.

occasionally an artists would have to texture someone else's model, but that's just to help out. We don't have any dedicated texture artists.
