Hey guys! I would Like to share with you some of my WoT vehicles.
The pipline is quite simple, I use 3D Max, Maya, ZBrush, Photoshop, Quixel, 3D Coat.
Hope you like it!
These look great! Are your images being rendered in-engine or with an external viewer like Marmoset? What kind of average creation time does one of these assets have?
Just curious. I noticed you using 3DS Max and Maya. Is there a reason why you choose to jump between the two software? Is there something you enjoy doing better in 3DS Max that Maya doesn't achieve?
2 questions about high-poly:
-how do you place track links? (i assume you dont place them manually)
-are rifled barrels one model? im curious if you model all the rifling
Also do you have some kind of tools or scripts to create all these welds or you sculpt that in zbrush by hand?
there are all shots from game engine
Too bad that the models look worse in the game itself
We have historically accuracy department
Awesome, when are they going to finally do their work?
Models are awesome, but textures look, well just bad (in game). Like texture artists don't what kind of materials were used when building tanks. You cant see all the layer of paint that tanks had on them, scratches are shiny, and they rather should be rusty/dirty/or have color of dark stainless steel.(it just hurts, when you see something like this) Also it looks like sometimes they have tanks in museum as reference, and that's bad because these tanks mostly have paint that is really shiny(it looks almost like a plastic), and real tanks look just really different. It would be better to have scale models and old photos (in colour) as refence for texturing imho. Anyway thanks for sharing
Wow these are awesome looking tanks! I tried making one the other month and sort of gave up I don't like giving up but it was probably too high above my skill level. I did make a good tred but just couldn't get the middle bit looking correct...
These are incredible Pavel, thanks for posting. I love the game and these new hi res models look fantastic. Can I ask how you got that wiped down dust effect on the panels and barrel of the AMX 30? It's one of those details that makes it incredibly lifelike but would never have occurred to me to add!
Lovely stuff. there is a lot of gorgeous detail here, the bashed front fenders(?) showing the bare metal is my favourite. Id love to know more about your texture workflow, but understandable if you can say much.
Great stuff! I have to ask, for texturing, I saw that quixel is part of your workflow. Did you just use it for a base or was done from beginning to end? Just curious on how it was used
Amazing texture work there. Could you explain some of your workflow? How much of it is DDO/Substance and if any how do you control it?
Great work guys!

About texturing, thanks for advice but I think we have great historically correct art direction.
But you have got it down exactly

stagga: wiped down effect achieved with different brushes and mixing some texture parts. Same way as leaking effect on rear wings.
Глаз не оторвать от проработки, очень круто сделано. Молодец!
