I like the doctor! I think he'd be good for interpreting in a wide variety of styles. He's also got a pretty limited amount of gear/accessories and materials which keeps the scope reasonable. I also like how its a different kind of character than you normally see, not just a dude with weapons.
I don't know if I'll have time to participate in this one or not as I have quite a bit of travel planned however, I think something more realistic would be a good idea. I think that alternating between realism and something more fantasy or toon will keep it fresh as well as force people out of a comfort zone they may have.
That being said, I think the wastelander or any of the future guys look great with the exception of the batface guy as it's the same concept artist as the current challenge.
PyrZern - I think budgets should really just fit to the final product. If someone makes a crazy 40K model then a 4096 might seem legit. If someone throws a 256 texture on it or vice versa a mobile style model with 1K tris and then a 2048 I might call a mismanagement of resources.
Some pictures I found, for the hell of it.
darkmag07 - I don't think that choosing something simple just to cater to other events is something we should adopt. People can pick and choose what event they want to participate in without neutering the challenge as a whole. If you want to do comic-con (or whatever) then I think you should focus on one awesome submission instead of splitting your efforts or just make sure to manage your time appropriately.

Hey people!
First of all, thanks PyrZern for the thread I was starting to think to create one few days ago but you beat me to it!
Then I have also some concepts to feed to the crowd. As you guys seem to go more towards a hard surface challenge for the month of February I would just leave these there for now and also add that we have the acord from Marc Brunet to use his art so if any of those that I drop in here is not enough you can still check his gallery right here http://bluefley.cghub.com/images/
Man, I'm pumped for this one. Let's finalize the vote by 29th. Then we get Artist's approval and get started. Unless someone else beats me to it, I will make the thread on the 31st.
PurZern, as previously said, we already have the artist approval. I contacted him few weeks ago already for the January edition but didn't get any answer until last week. So it's probably better to contact the artist with a few days margin in cas he doesn't see the message directly. But again in this case Marc already confirmed.
I did not contact the artist on any of the pieces I posted yet. I did not want to bother people without confirmation that we wanted to use their piece. I figured we could contact as it got closer.
The Conquistador is at 6 (thought it's 7,failed at counting, sry.). tied with the SciFi Powered-Armor Girl with Dual Blades at 6. The Doctor (:P) and the Powered-Armor Neo-Nazi Officer are tied at 4.
The medieval guy that has 7 votes on him is by the same artist that did the concept for this months challenge so should be easy to get permission for it.
Edit never mind it sort of is a tie still. All of the multi votes and vote editing is throwing me. Next time lets keep the votes to no more than two votes and let's make sure less concepts get into the thread. It is pretty confusing as it stands.
Ahahaha, the confusing part to me was when someone posted more picture but not voting for them. And I'm not sure if they are voting for them or not :P So I had to double check. It was my bad.
Personally I think the girl is a bit to complex for the second challenge. Also it would be nice to trade off between male and female to get a mix of anatomy in there.
LOL ! I voted her cuz I'm drooling over the dress she's wearing. Wrinkles and folds and drapes @_@ Just how much EXP and levels will one gain from finishing that ^^

(I love that 3rd from last, spacesuit samurai-ish guy though.)

Much more interesting than the Doc. Though I was hoping for a male subject.
Edit: I got the creator of Doctor to ok with us using his piece.
