Matrox still makes video cards? High end nvidia or ati cards are your best bet, nvidia just put out a dx10 card even, it all depends on how much money you have to spend. Just saying matrox or ati is silly, also i'm assuming by evga you mean nvidia as they are a third party vendor for the geforce series card.
Hello all! I would love to know some of the best practices for posing finished character designs in Zbrush. I have tried using T-Pose Mesh in the past with varying success. My main frustration points with the T-Pose mesh process is the laggy response rate, and severely deformed geometry occurring so quickly. I wouldn't…
Hey folks, I would like to know your opinion, which studios in the Europe you consider the best for employee? (colleagues, working atmosphere, cool projects et.c.) I'm asking this question because right now I'm working at one of major mobile game developers and everything seems fine except the fact that it mostly about…
Heh thanks for the reply, it does seem like a dumb question after reading back my post. I guess I just wanted to hear it from somebody else. I definitely prefer character work, but I think I just wasn't sure if the best way to go for beginners is to try and get as much variation in their portfolio as possible but I suppose…
Was just wondering what everyone uses or if anyone knows a quick way in photoshop to do this. There's always shadows and Agisoft offers an option to do it with the professional version which is over $1k. I'm willing to pay, but that's a little outside of my range just for that feature. I have access to…

I am buying games for our library so we can review art work etc. I thought it would be a fun and easy task but has turned out to be far more difficult than I first thought. I am the kind of person that can never…
There have been many games listed, but the only one that I'd consider great enough to be a must play before you die would be: -Betrayal at Krondor- Betrayal at Krondor (in the context of what it brought to the table for its day in age) is a masterpiece. (Don't bother with the sequel: Return to Krondor). It is also abandon…
Triangulation really can screw you over, that is true. (But damn I hate buying an asset for it to be triangulated without a quad version) (The assets are not for sale, but I just meant that an unwrap for unknown tangent space would make a safe approach that always works a good choice) Batching Workflow (offtopic from UV…
Hi Polycount! :) I have just modeled some butterflies and am trying to figure out the best way to transfer their basic animation loops into UDK. Would using bones be too overkill for a low-poly butterfly? Should I bake the animation into a vertex animation instead? What option would be the most processor-friendly? Thanks…
