Hello all, I am currently working on the final part of my degree and in an effort to push my learning curve further before I finish my work I thought I would keep a thread on here to show what I am doing and get some feed back for improvements and the alike. So what am I doing (or at least attempting to do)? - My aim for…
Materials don't look like real materials to me. Like sword hilt is super shiny and most armors' texture seem random. Do those armors have thickness ? Armor also seems to float above the character too much.
I love the face of that dark mage and his skeleton armor/ornaments remind me of one of my favorite armor sets from Guild Wars 2 - the very cool Krytan armor set. Very excited to see more of that summer project.
Just as a post-mortem critique, Howard, you cannot let armor look lumpy and cloth-like. Your high-poly armor needs to looks smooth and clean at a base level. Right now, it reads like mud in elements like the shoulder armor.
A little author design and experiments with models set from armor store. http://romanyukart.com/store/double-purple/ Good example of quality and the whole set in a whole image. The model is made for vr project. armor storehttp://romanyukart.com/store/category/armor/ https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fcbWA_hUN8Y
After being rejected by her original host, Jean Grey, the Phoenix Force resumed its relentless search for a new vessel worthy of its immense power. Amid the recent events that have shattered multiversal boundaries, the entity discovered a breach—one that allowed it to access realms previously unseen and far removed from…
I feel like the forms created by the shoulder pads are not stylistically similar to the rest of his armor, like his chest plates or thigh plates, but this should be a relatively quick fix? Unless the pads need to be incongruent to the rest of the armor design? Otherwise, the thrust of the armor design is clear :) .
The biggest problems I see in terms of design and execution are that your characters don't have interesting overlapping forms on them, and thus don't have an interesting silhouette. Their clothes and armor won't look like it was put on one piece at a time and worn layer upon layer, and instead look like part of a one piece…
This is looking great. I would double check the size of her head, I think its a tad too big, making her feel short. Other then that awesome job on the cloth and armor, buttcrack armor is the best kind of armor. ;)
try doing your characters body on one layer to get the proportion and anatomy solid. then do the armor over top on another layer. looks like the fancy armor might be what is hindering you. do some research on how different armor sits on the body and how the body moves in it.
