Rens: if I recall correctly (I think i do) it was taken along the "weg der schweiz" (way of switzerland). It was a very very very nice walking path along this side of the lake going from Brunnen to Flüelen (Altdorf). Google maps haaah it took me only 5 minutes to look that up! oh, and this foto was composed out of 4 images.
@LRoy : thanks for the advice. I was already aware of the lacking detail, but most of it will be added trough the normal map. I will surely put some textures, bolts and rivets in there. @Der Hollander: You are right, my proportions are fairly off. This was because I tried to mimick the typical 40k skull, but it didn't work…
Yes, that's what I was referring to earlier in the thread, from Zsummit 2014. I think it was Paul Gabory/Joe Drust who showed this first a few years back. It really is a great technique for creating high-poly bake meshes. The boolean dynamesh features in ZB are one of those things that fell u der the radar for a lot of…
I highly recommend the method Der Hollander explained as I build bodies the same way. Now about your questions : - To add another sphere as a subtool, just click "append" and select a sphere. - To dynamesh several subtools together, click "merge down" to merge together the subtools you want and then click "dynamesh" to…
I'm really liking this Zbrush! I have been using it for about 2 months now. I wanted to have some fun, I see the characters from the new SF4 but I still love the classic look of SF 3rd Strike. Again as I said always open to constructive criticism so let me know what ya think. ~der…
I don't post projects often, so I'll just make a thread that will likely encompass several projects. I'll also attempt to explain the project as I post it in terms of quality level/style. Comments, critiques are appreciated, always good to have a sounding board for furthering learnings. Ganelon Update: [ame="…
I'd echo Peppe/dfacto/MoP's suggestions so far and add... Games; EVE Online (chilled out electronic, very good - there's about 4 hours of it, too) Vampire: The Masquerade Bloodlines (fantastic original music and some good liscenced metal and industrial tracks thrown in) Films; Fight Club (electronicy stuff, some ambient…
Yeah Der Hollander pointed out some great points. As for your UVs I'd say they are fine. But I would maybe of given the boots greater space on the UV buy scaling them up and in return scaled down the backpack on the UV. As a personal suggustion I would maybe include the beard but not the hair of the earlier rendition. It…
Thanks Der and I agree with everything you said about the digital painting. I think my main problem with that piece is exactly what you mentioned, I hadn't really figured out materials and it is really hurting it. I'm working on some new sketches now for it. I definitely want to get in there and make it a more solid piece…
