I might be able to make it down for a London meet, money allowing. Train fares down to there (not to mention places to stay) are sky-high, price wise. And at the moment I'm saving up for a Canada trip this summer... I'll see what I can do.
Interesting conversation. Can anyone provide details about the art tests? Examples? It seems like some are harder than others. I would be interested to see what would be required of someone taking one. Sounds like a good challenge for me this summer.
Hey there, Name's Phil Sanchez. I'm a 2D/3D artist, and I'm trying to spend the summer learning and building my portfolio. (so please, any suggestions or critiques you may have are very much appreciated!) In any case, hope you all enjoy!
These are the final images i'l be handing in. Really wish i had another month to spend on this guy, so much i'd love to change on him, but there just isn't time :/ Might come back to him as a personal project during the summer.
@Paquette_e if you live near montreal, probably you wont be too far from good opportunity. there is a lot of CG active art community there, during summer, they tend to have some good gathering. ( no boundaries between student and professional )
That's exactly what I'm going to do this summer after last exams. I will focus on my fundamentals. Could you point out where are major mistakes? P.S. Note that basemesh for this was made by following riven phoenix intro to blender.
If I fix the blur, I'll have to remake my textures from scratch. This is something I can do in summer vacation. Cause I'm a student and have lots of projects going on. But I'll place it on my to do list :) And thanks :)
We have some good things here. http://wiki.polycount.com/wiki/Category:CharacterModeling I'm in the process of adding the images back to almighty_gir's Roguedevelopmentdiary, so that should be up to date shortly. (we migrated to a different wiki software last summer)
Yeah, I'm not really suprised. They host their own press/trade event on site each year called Hot Summer Nights (awful name) so I'm sure they're pushing for people to come to them instead of vice versa.
Hey guys, i know this forum is primarily digital 2d/3d but i know there are some traditional animators as well. I've been asked to teach a summer traditional animation camp to kids aged 9-12 and I'm in need of some cheap or easily constructable light tables (and if possible cheap pegbars aswell)
