Name's Phil Sanchez. I'm a 2D/3D artist, and I'm trying to spend the summer learning and building my portfolio. (so please, any suggestions or critiques you may have are very much appreciated!)
Some WIPs of a project I've been working on in my free time. For the most part, I've just taken to calling him "Thrugg" (not sure why, it just sounded like something he'd be called).
Took a break from some of the technical details of the Barbarian piece to work on this. Started the sculpt 6 months ago as a tribute to Kienan Lafferty's "Emma"http://emmacomiconline.com/
Now that I have a little more experience with zbrush and 3D in general, thought I'd give it a second go
Wow! Apparently, it's been a while since I've posted anything. Not okay; let's fix that:
Meet Joe the Pirate. I've been working on Joe off and on during in my free time the past few months. He was a lot of fun; and I learned quite a lot . Hope you enjoy
Finally added the hair cards topology and some color! I still need to tweak some of her UV's and bake out texture maps, but I wanted to share the progress I've made!
Had to take a break from my previous character (though I hope to get back to her soon). Here's a concept character I did in preparation for Jason Martin's Character Creation Course.
Weeell, it's finally
done: I've been continuing to work on this guy in my free time , trying to develop my understanding of haircards and the whole character art pipeline. You
can see the full project (including a Marmoset Viewer file) here: http://philipsanchez.com/projects/Edg80

I've been doing a lot of studying, and recently started a mentorship with the amazing Lukas Kutschera, during which I've been working on an anatomy study based on this reference from Anatomy 360. There's still a lot to do, but I've already learned a ton, and I'm getting closer and closer!
I'm continuing to push the likeness closer and closer to the reference. Thankfully, Lukas Kutschera was able to give me some amazing feedback that really helped push things forward.
This week was all about adding breakup to the forms and then polish, polish, polish! There's still lots of fine tuning to do, but I'm getting to a level of
detail I'm happy with (at least on his left arm; I still need to
replicate it to the rest of his body). Shouldn't be long now...
The last couple weeks have been a little crazy, but I wanted to make sure to share a little of what
I have been able to get done. Though, the textures are still very "work in progress"
