Hello there, I recently did some sculpts of my favorite metalheads, as studies and stylized anatomy practice. I had a lot of fun and am planning to do a lot more in the future, so I thought "why not creating a polycount thread for it?". I'll be updating this every now and then. Of course, I'm posting this looking for…
Hello, my name is Peyton Thomas. I am an aspiring 3D artist who lives in Austin, Texas. In this post, I will be talking about how I constructed the bridge environment I constructed, and the techniques I used to build it. Star Trek is my favorite franchise, and it’s the reason I wanted to go into 3D art to begin with. It…
Greetings all. I am here pimping software to create models rather than models themselves. Apologies if this is considered poor taste... Here's the rundown. Pictomod3D Version 1.0 is now available for download from styxar.com This software is simple to use and allows you to create 3D models from photographes or images.…

Sorry, for not being to responsive during that week - Easter consumed a lot of my time :/ @Shyralon - like DemonPrincess said. Always try to make at least the top part of the arts, it will make everything easier for you. The main mistake that I see, is the external oblique muscle. You will not really see that kind of a…
Thanks everybody! I am glad everybody likes my rocks, and I can try to write up a guide or do a video when I get some free time. This is my process at the moment. 1) Model out the large forms in maya with a bunch of primitive shapes bashed together. Topology doesn't matter just get the silhouette and large parts in there.…
That sounds like a great idea! If you havbe an extra screen, you can use a free app like Daz to place a generic model that you can zoom and rotate around for reference while you sculpt. Stylized is good but if you are beginning try nail a generic sculpt first.
I'm the opposite of you, and I strongly disagree. I always "waste" time on working on the anatomy stage for the perfection, no matter how much clothes are going to cover the character. I can't stand knowing the fact that the underlying anatomy is unfinished, wrong or rushed when working on clothes. I'm perverted and…
Hi all- I've been on the forum a while now but haven't to date posted any work. Well, all that's about to change! I'm currently working as a primary school teacher, but am looking to change careers and work in 3D for games as this is my passion (or obsession, if my wife is to be believed). The following images represent…
Zbrush isn't putting up roadblocks— it just isn't really the right tool for doing something like that. If you make a tiling rock texture (by sculpting on a plane, in zbrush, with wrap-mode set to 1, ( http://arifcreations.com/blog/2012/01/21/tileable-rock-texture-in-zbrush/ )), you can then apply it to a cave shell made in…
