Hello, for my entry into all 3 categories, I would to like to create an animation of 2 giant humanoid robots fighting in a city. I will be creatine the actual robots and cities from scratch in maya then import into iclone to animate. I will post regularly on my progress.
Always google before posting :-P But yes, the girls are there to put a face to the game and make it more marketable. I don't think flying robots on their own would be enough to give it mass appeal. It's a sad state of affairs that flying robots are not enough, but there it is.
Oh wow, that looks sooo good already. Such a great idea! And I love the robot remnants! Here's my progress. The topology is a bit chaotic, but I've already learned my lesson to start with a cube with subdivisions instead of modeling the silhouette right away. Yay. (:
For anyone that was interested/watching this, the contest is closed and onto voting~ So the most-like robot is going to be 3d printed! Voting happens by hearting the entry posts on their forums here: http://forums.vixle.com/t/vixle-modeler-contest-robots/25/1
This is my droid, HH-A5-3. The name comes from the inspiration for the model. It is a piece of concept I found google image searching 'robots'. http://hackberryhollow.com/2010/05/04/robot-concept-art-5-part-http://www.polycount.com/forum/attachment.php?attachmentid=13625&d=13813294883/
i really like the concept work for that robot at the top of the page. he would be so much fun to animate. have you still been working on that one? all your other stuff looks great but that robot at the top caught my eye :)
I like the way the robotic arm is tethered to her enormous breast. Lot's of support there. I think the mid section of her legs should be as long as ones lower leg to give the impression they are some kind of futuristic boots instead of robot legs.
Edit: Most up to date version: I decided to design a retro robot style Desert Eagle based off of robots such as this This is a rough initial design of the gun: I like the colours so far but it needs more detail so I'll be looking for new things to add.
I love this design! this might me a bit late in the process but I would do more to distinguish the legs more. It's pretty hard to tell if they are stylistic human legs or robot legs, I think you are going for robot but it is pretty hard to determine.
as far as I can work out the US has decided.... 1 and 2: It doesn't matter - robot work cannot be copyrighted. Can you create derivative work from something a robot did and own the copyright? yes, you can it's not AI, it's a complicated filter. if we stop calling it AI we'll stop attributing human characteristics to it and…
