The most important part of any art is thought. Before you even begin on a piece like this you should sit down and figure out what function the prop/wall etc will serve. Will it have pipes running along it transporting fuel/steam/water. Will the pipes need to be insulated. What kind of electrical cables/equipment will be…
No problem dude. I recently started trying to help people and I'm damn glad I did :) . Rune symbols could be pretty cool and I know what you mean about "magic" being used to explain impossible situations. Another idea (while being too late and too much with the restrictions at hand) could be some sort of attachment that…
So necro bumpish. Things came up. I have time now, I even have a down payment for them to start the manufacturing of the bike. I am also working with a local bike shop to get it up and running after Bombus gets done with the frame. Frame design attached. He uses American chromoly steel. Its based around a hardtail MTB…
Hi again guys... These are the sequences "filmed" on the planet's surface... The Landing After to find a nice video background for the landing module. I started adapting the vanishing point of the iClone's camera to create a convincing perspective effect. The composition of this scene is quite simple. Besides the landing…
It was my plan to be able to get this ingame. I think I still can. The only issue im having is... I HAVE NO IDEA WHAT IM GONNA DO ABOUT THE PIPES? I think Im just gonna have some kind of blob wth the pipes baked on it, and then add a few in the end. But, Id rather not jump into texturing right now. Im still trying to…
This is a problem I've run into on and off for a few years that seems to just sometimes occur and sometimes not and the cause has been just invisible to me. This is several objects linked to eachother in 3dsmax (much like a biped). Everything was working fine just before my last save and now when i try and rotate the arms…
Hey Guys! I've been working on a basic Biped rig fr my character in 3DS Max and I'm having a terrible time trying to figure out the envelopes for my character's Skin modifier. As a result, my character has a bunch of weird warping that I can't seem to get rid f. Can anybody help me figure out how to fix this? I've attached…
+m4dcow Another tool you may want to consider is embedding "attachment" nodes within each module. This way you can abstract out the working pivot for each module and have multiple independent nodes that you can organize into however complicated of a system you want. An example would be that you would have some weird curved…
Hey Ged! Thanks for your feedback, as I said I've started the work from a concept of K.Thompson, in his book he mentioned the robot ability to use his claws to maintain the position while it's shooting. About the rear part I decided to model a sort of box with a machine gun and some seats: I used a 3dsmax biped to study…
You didn't mention that you were deleting the old mesh before attaching the new one. Don't do that, the uv's get wiped. I've ran into that before also. Just move the old mesh off to the side before attaching the new one so that you can easily select it later and delete it. But you'd very rarely want to completely delete a…
