I'm creating an XGen groom for a character which is working for the most part. The issue I run into is how some clumps seem to clump on themselves for lack of a better term. Take a look at the image below and you can see a few of those issues (the forest-ish green looking clump alongside the light blue clump on the…
Let's see if I can explain this. So the uv's on the left are on their own separate island based on the smoothing groups 1-4 and hard edges. the uv on the right is one smoothing group, and my question is will it matter if I break the uv for my normal map? since it is on the same smoothing group?
When it comes to lighting if you compare your histogram to your reference you will see that you have a lot more darks/contrast. Most likely due to the shaded empty forest space to the left. As you got so much blue in there, did you think of adding an orange light contrast? If you'd like the eyes to remain blue, try and let the scene get some orange tones by adding an orange light coming from the left side for example.
I think he's talking about the transform gizmo, that lets you scale, move and rotate without switching tools.. Just select the move/rotate/scale tools in the top left-hand corner and you'll lose the bounding box around your selection.
Yeah well done, the only thing I notice is that his left wrist looks a little uncomfortable. Could be the render angle but looks like it could be turned in towards his chest more. Now I'll let you get back to the running of the Jews..
