I'm going to see it more of a representation of how the durian team have grown artisticly individually, and their way of using it as PR for blender, rather than it being a representation of what blender is capable of.
If the cost of Maya is prohibitive, you should just remodel the assets from scratch in Blender, it would force you to get better at Blender and you would have a workflow for future assets.
Surprisingly I've actually noticed that there is a substantial amount of blender users here. Blender sure has stepped up it's game for the past 5-6 years but it still has a long way to to.
I make the base inside of blender! Blender master race!!! Also the 6 pictures you see in my first post are all base meshes that I directly import into zBrush
might want to rephrase that - blender's cycles would probably be the best renderer if you're doing your final render with blender's cycles. Do you mean the best realtime engine to preview in?
Hello there, is the project still alive and are you still looking for 3d modelers ? I use blender and Zbrush, here is my portfolio : https://blenderartists.org/u/manou/activity/portfolio

The sculptng is pretty good, though not as good with higher poly counts. But hey max has not had any decent updates in 20 years, but Blender is leading the way with…
Hi I am a Blender modeler and I am trying to learn Maya. I could be an idiot, but there are 2 things in Maya I have not been able to figure out how to do and its driving me crazy. Question 1) How to extrude a verticie from a polygon such that only the verticie and edge are created. In blender its simply done by clicking on…
I have used Blender for around 2 years at this point, but still couldn't figure out why would Blender insists on exporting obj file with transform applied onto vertex position. I would love to tell Blender 2.8: I am making modular pieces, mate. I am exporting a single piece, not the scene. I don't want world transform,…
So... I just started learning Blender, and dived straight into character sculpting. For the experts here :) , how long on average would you say you would spend on sculpting a base model like the one below? I spent about 3-4 days from start to end, and it's still not done! This is my first proper sculpting project, though…
