Lots of interns for 2020 posted on this Google Doc, remember it has to be a professional paid internship or its illegal, well in the UK anyway. Good luck. :) UbisoftMontreuilFranceInternship - 2D/3D Artist (Marketing Assistant)On-SiteFebruary 19,…
Hey folks! I was wondering: When you have to retopo something like that: would you start with the borders(?): Or would you just begin with the obvious part where you know there is no curvature and build the rest based on that: I find it somehow hard toget a good looking retopo-mesh with that simple mesh.... it is the…
So I'm working on learning to transfer uv snapshots into a editor program. Here's the problem, I don't have an actual copy of photoshop for learning, I'm not particularly interested in paying for it and I'm looking at alternatives like gimp. First thing I notice, it wants me to stroke the layer on the UV snapshot import.…
Hey, I started using Zbrush a week ago its amazing but I'm having problems when normal mapping. I've sculpted a squid type creature that I'd like to rig and animate for a game. I've sorted the uvs but every normal map that I create in z brush is just flat blue.... I've also exported a low res mesh and a high res decimated…
Hello, so i was listing the supported software that we MAC folks have to work around and i came to the same conclusion i already had in the past. There is basically no alternatives for xNormal. It doesn't surprise me since its the King of the normals in the industry. So i would like to know from you fellow os x users which…
Another thread on schools, but for a different reason. Let me start this off by saying I hate you all like I hate my brother. I love you, but I also hate you. >_< I thought I had it all figured out, but after reading up on some information on For Profit schools, I've started receiving mixed feelings internally. One side of…
If you remove support edges you mess with normals which means your baked normal map is no longer valid. You can patch it up to an extent by transferring normals from the original mesh to the edited one but it's all a massive hack and what I would classify as a shit way to do things. Personally I avoid baking to cylinders…
Everything is possible Painter will let you work independently of UVs but you need to be careful of positioning and bounding boxes If you make radical changes (Eg removing large chunks of your model) you need to look at alternatives that involve rebaking textures to new uvs Simplygon, substance designer and use of transfer…
there is also an other option, that might be interesting for learning houdini. - you build a houdini digital asset (.hda) that do the task - you load it in maya throw houdini engine what could be really nice is that you would be able to benefit from auto poly reduce feature inside houdini on geo that have to much poly ,…
Been using vista for a very long time and it works fine though I have been hearing a lot of cool stuff about Win7.The whole hassle of transfering files and applications...??. Still using 2013 and loving it.I have always thought of upgrading to 64bit but since I can pretty much do all I need to do since I started using 32,I…
