you can always do your interface art in your preferred 3d app. that is what i did with my wip folio site, which took only around 30-45 minutes. as for the overlapping, since it is not apparent on your pc but is on everyone else's, what is your desktop resolution?
I'm working on a Chinese roof, and the corner part stumped me. How can you make a perfect roof corner in Maya? In the Polycount Acadamy video, at 7:43 (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xC0uL_QQWeY&t=464s), he could do symmetry in 3d max that turned out ideally 45 degrees. Is there a way like this in Maya?
Sound like a cool idea. Are you doing the whole hallway? or just that initial room? Pod looks good. I know your taking liberties, but I think your pod is a little too upright. The images show it more like a 45 degree angle.
Yes i have, and yes it looks too flat for me too... but i made support edge and padding, so maybe the problem is deep too low? (mine is 45 degree) For the wall, i re-did lowpoly and highpoly but there are still normal issues like this
If you find it difficult working at the fov, you can change what the editor displays by changing the value in BaseEngine.ini (C:\UDK\UDK-*version number*\Engine\Config) Just search for fovangle. Default is 90 methinks, but about 45 should match the ref pic.
It just started snowing where I am, about 45 mins east of Seattle. After growing up and living in SoCal my whole life, I think it's awesome. Of course, we'll see what my attitude is after about of month of having deal with it.
Is there a script or a known fix for max 2008 that will keep the FOV settings from changing everytime I hit a button or change views? Right now I need FOV around 10 but everytime I set my FOV in the viewport configuration it resets to 45 after I hit zoom in to poly.
Ok, so you know how in Zbrush when you are rotating around an object you can hold "shift" to make the object snap to face the camera? Is there a way to change how many degrees it will snap to? It seems that the default is 90, but I would like to be able to make it snap on a 45. Can do?
I'm relatively new to animation projects and was hoping to get some advice on the best way to break a job down into billing milestones. The video will be about 45 seconds long and is showcasing a piece of furniture. What milestones would you bill the client at? Any other advice you have is appreciated as well Thanks
Have you tried setting a specific smoothing angle rather than just hitting "soften edge"? Delete all history, highlight all verts and merge at 0.01 distance. Then hit "set to face" and then "harden/soften edges" at 45 or 60 degrees. Go full 90 if 60 is too low.
