Just so I'm clear, are you wanting to keep you WIP/colour material, but make the mesh partially transparent? If that is the case, there's 3 methods I can think of that could work. You can manually edit the opacity by selecting the object mesh - right click - object properties - General Tab. The non the lower right there is…
Fix those curved cylinder UVs. Make them straight or hide those. Showing off UVs is like showing wireframes a lot of times. People don't often look at the wireframe or UVs and think it's efficiently done (at least not most of the time). I wouldn't show your UVs personally. At least till yours are packed like SkankerZero's.…
For those of you about to go nuts trying to figure this out, for whatever reason they changed "Display Selected with Edged Faces Toggle", which puts a wireframe over only the selected mesh, into "Viewport Selection Display Selected with Edged Faces Toggle". So I was trying to figure out how come my F4 key didn't do…
Thanks Reventius, and I see what you mean about the claws. Originally I was going to keep it true to the claws on the model, but sharp talons are more of a personal design choice. Just feels more badass :P Here's an update ***EDIT*** I don't think this really deserves a bump because I havent done much so I'll just pop this…
[ QUOTE ] The wireframe bit I'm talking about is when you select an object in Max. A wireframe immediately goes ontop of the geo. This makes fixing seems difficult because pixels get in the way. [/ QUOTE ] Uncheck: Customize/Viewport Configuration/display selected with edged faces [ QUOTE ] And for some reason no one seems…
Hey there, that's not bad for a first model. We all gotta start somewhere so don't sweat it. It looks like a nice model, but you probably have to spend a bit of time researching some rendering techniques. Your house looks washed out and there isn't much detail. What would also be helpful is rendering wireframes. You catch…
Hey guys, I'm just posting a quick update with the promised wireframe renders and lighting updates. First, the lighting. I tried what trancerobot suggested and even though I like it, I think it needs some more work. I'll test this lighting set-up more towards the end of the project. So I reverted back to what was there…
Hey y'all, I'm having this issue where sometimes my 3ds max viewport becomes really inaccurate, and it's being an absolute pain! (attached image) The vertex + wireframe starts to look slightly offset from the shaded model, and when trying to select individual vertices the actual vertex slection "area" is offset (pink dot)…
Hey guys, I'm working on a school project and the goal was to sculpt a bust in Zbrush or Mudbox and then import it in Maya for a presentation ( clay render, texture and wireframe). Once I finished sculpting in Zbrush P3 I exported it to Maya 2016 SP3. But then I noticed some weird thing going on, my topology was different…
I'm not going to comment on the scene's itself, i'm going to give you some advice on the presentation. The video is pretty nice, but at some points a bit of slow and repeating. It's quite nice that you also show the wireframe and so on in it. As for the individual presentations, you showed the wireframe in the video's, why…
