Liked it , nice to see somthing like this actually finished. the intro made me laugh , i love the style of script , sorta ultra honest, reminds me of monkey island 1... cheap ..... i went to your, "love shack" ..... think your version of 1997 is more catchy ... is there gona be a single?
At some point, there will have to be connection to a PC based version, or at least a server import process for assets and scripts. Else what modding will be reduced to is a very basic sandbox idea of only what the original game constaints give. Hence, my sincere hope that PC gaming will continully exist in some form.
Sounds like publicity stunt. Also "stealing" ideas, yea like why not? Its like evolution, if everyone made their own ideas then we only would have shitloads of shitty ideas. Also arent 90% Hollywood movies like almost exact replicas of some standardized script or other?
If you're doing a lot of LODs you could look at MeshArmyKnife http://www.phoenixgrafik.de/coding/MeshAK.zip this allows you to target weld while preserving UVs. also there are a couple of scripts for dissolving edges (and removing the verts left behind) which also preserve UVs where possible. http://www.flamefx.com/ - Steve
Yes, and I'm confident that the scripted style gameplay that the series is *very* famous for doesn't need to be explained to anyone in this thread. I still happen to think that the term 'actual gameplay' is misleading when you're not controlling the camera or any events occurring, that's all. The game is looking killer,…
I love that orange - can someone post me that texture as I dont have any source engine installed. Would like to abuse it for my texTools :D - oh and the grey as well please. (maybe some auto script that assigns grey to z-axis faces , and orange to the rest,. hmm...)
Oooh I got Vig pissed! Heheh. I know, it's a mess. But so is scripting or any quasi-coding system, until you start learning how to use it. I used param wiring once to get some text to update on the screen in response to time passing, or somesuch, been awhile.
It's not canceled, it's in a minor limbo. They are trying to iron out the financials again, as well as bringing in another writer to tweak the script. And the reason studios aren't "lining up" to make this is the price tag. Due to Microsoft's demands on the project, the movie has a price tag of about $325 million. That's…
Lots of heavily scripted gameplay, quick time events, derivative shooter sequels, hardly any ip's; I really wasn't thrilled with this press conference, especially as a read of the current industry. All the AAA footage they showed would have been better off properly produced in a movie.
In the Hypershade, you can right click on a material and get a selection of everything it's assigned to. This button grabs all materials on an object (but not face selection). You may want to check out Material Manager, super super handy script by Bartalon, it auto highlights materials in the list based on selection.
