You could always hire an artist that knows how to sculpt ^^ One of the easiest sculpting apps i have used so far is Sculptris. It's free to get at the Pixologic page. It's a bit basic nowadays. But exactly this gives you a really low entry barrer to sculpting. http://pixologic.com/sculptris/
Howdy! I'm currently finishing up my BFA thesis in University and thought I would share my work in progress. Any feedback is welcome. =) Currently on the agenda: One or two more tree variants, color variants for foliage, and repaint the texture on the sculpted rocks.
Goal was to bring my idea to life by using free assets from Epic. I wanted to lead the player eye to an entrance above. Nothing fancy like Raytracing or soft shadows due to no volume fog support for it yet in Unreal. Hand sculpted landscape and went for foggy atmosphere at night time, full dynamic lighting. Quixel…

Autodesk buys bitsquid June 2014 Unreal Engine for free March 2015 Free Unreal 4 kills Stingray as standalone solution in my opinion. I wish they bundle Maya LT + Stingray Renderer (or direkt unreal4 plugin) and Mudbox. Thats where a nice and cheap solution for everything a hobbyst need. Mudbox was very good, not powerful…
Your common tools are the 3d packages, mostly for hard surface models and base meshes. Zbrush, Mudbox for sculpting. Photoshop for texturing. + lots of other third party tools or plugins that can help you with specific tasks. The most common workflow is to create hipoly meshes and bake them onto low poly meshes that will…
