I was thinking about this last night. With Pixels and polygons as mediums, low res is the bread and butter. It requires you make the most of the tris and pixels to show what you need to, and often it will still be abstractly low res; but recognizable. :)
Hi, this is my 2nd serious attemp at modelig a low poly human character. I know the proportions are off, but i used a comic book character reference. I'm mainly intersted in how well i have achived mesh flow. My goal is to create a mesh that will deform well when animated. Comment's and crits are welcome.
Make sure you are using the v3 Beta of the shader. You need to fill the Light Position (think thats what it's called) slot of the shader, normal Maya lights wont do nothing for you. Here's a quick method. 1. Open the shader in the Attribute Editor 2. Click the Copy Tab button at the bottom of the Attribute Editor 3. Create…
that's true, but it's a very risky movie for people who don't have much resources besides they reputation but i don't really care, at the end of the day isn't my name and isn't my time going on that, gamers are professional consumers, most don't care if it's bad(as long as isn't too bad) or good they just consume like a…
Can somebody show me some examples of some low poly mouths gums and teeth? I'm creating a character of around 10k and I'm not sure how far to take the detail of the mouth. The head is around 1600 polys. I'm wondering if just a flat textured surface would be sufficient? of if there is a better way.
I got my degree when ZBrush was this new thing that I'd seen online this one time. Since then, my career has been... pretty solitary and limited and my skills are pretty stunted. I want to get out of this rut and learn the new methods and I know I need to learn a sculpting program and how to use it to generate low poly…
Little doodle, trying to get used to 3D space. Digital sculpting has been slow going, especially compared to my clay work. I feel really weird working this way - I assume it's just a matter of not being used to it, and the more I work the looser I get. It might also be my work-flow. I'm trying to build everything from…
It worked! Mostly A lot of the pieces turned out good. Thanks for the advice Obscura. I ended up using a cage file. It did create a different problem though. Two pieces still look kinda low rez. I will go back and mess around with low rez pegs for these two objects. Though now the biggest issue is the speaker. and yes the…
Solved. I just made 2 or 3 different bakes with the projection cage at different distances from the model. I also just decimated and exported the leotard/singlet out of zbrush, and baked it alone onto the whole low poly body mesh. I also did a bake where I did a smooth to the low poly mesh's fingers to increase their…
