Also to answer your question about an easier way to create a low poly from a high poly, I would just retopologize the high res and just make a whole new model, 3DCoat is really good at retopo. If you leave out the holes then you can paint the holes black and play with color balance and normal depth in order to make it…
This is going to be a big dump, but after all this time lurking I figure it's about time I post what I've been up to. Sorry for all the more traditional stuff, kinda downplaying the 3D work as of late. Anyhow here it goes.... 18x24 CHARCOALS!! Still WIP These are still 18x24 but are done with ballpoint pen and watercolors,…
Hey, I keep a 32bit version of Maya around for some plugins that only work on 32bit. Recently however, it has started giving me a fatal error on startup once the main window loads. Looking at the crashlog it seems that a nvd3d9wrap.dll is causing the issue, all I've found on the problem is gamers saying that it's causing…
I started working with a company that they have a pipe line go's like the following :- building basic mesh in Maya- sculpt in zbrush - retopology in maya - UV's in maya - import the high res model (Zbrush)and the low res model (maya) to zbrush then (divide and project the low res model to the high res ) to make the low rez…
Taking a break from the GitS scene and started working on a material. Did a trip a while back overseas to south asia area and came across a lot of nice bricks :) WIP toolbag renders of height/nrm/roughness progress
Hi all, I am creating a 2nd UV set and I would like to use a a few main pieces from the 1st UV set as a base. The problem: When I pin a selection in Maya and use the "Stitch Together" tool, the pinned UVs will move regardless of whether the Stitch Together tool is set to "A to B" or "B to A"
Here is mine, Portfolio - https://nikhilr.artstation.com/ General portfolio critique - This is student work - You should discard all of it and start over - It doesn't look cool enough - This is not next gen - Have you seen my work? - Did you just graduate? - Do you know how to google? - Your portfolio clearly needs more…
I think, if you double-click the model, it'll select the whole element. Is that the kind of thing you're after? as for cleaning up overlapping verts faces etc.. I haven't really found a good way for it, don't use maya that often though. I once modeled a highpoly plane, and seems like I accidentally cloned the whole mesh…
Hey all, This is NOT a blog. I'm in the United States for another 5 months, and I'm currently looking for a place to live. I've been staying with a friend in Sacramento for the last few weeks, but I need to sort myself out with my own room. I'm specifically looking at California (preferably around the LA area), so if any…
