i was playing max payne...and then i read thatu could make your own weapons and levels.....AT HOME! It just kinda took off from there. Funny how a simple summer hubby turned into a a life style! :)
this is looking kick ass! I like the gun but I think the reference has a nice gap with a thinner barrel between the main body of the gun and the big fat silencer/suppressor and that would help sell the look of the weapon.
Long time since I posted something here. Here is my facial muscle study finished. Now what's left is some decent render :) Also here is a bone (weapon) of a character that I'm working at the moment
Sweet Rendition of Ornstein's weapon. That level of detail is unreal. Last I played any DS, was late 2012, the fight against him and Smoug was so epic and challenging. Some even call them Biggie Smalls.
Little Update, been a while but nearly finished the the Remote Weapon Station, the sight is just from the blockout. Then just going to redo some elements with larger rounded edges but then just planning on cracking with the low res. Whisky
- have a rough idea what you waant to do. Like "hard surface or organic" - decide the like mech, char, weapon etc - search for inspiration - fall in love with a concept or idea/item etc - do it : P
have you seen what Tripwire Interactive has done with Killing Floor 2? They've mocapped the weapons and the animations are 120fps so even in slow motion you get smooth animation, it's basically gun porn
Do not use the knife since you just copied a tutorial, its immediately recognizable as ben boltens http://cgi.tutsplus.com/tutorials/next-gen-weapon-creation-part-1-the-high-poly-model--cg-782
Boom, that's the contest, make a hero! I'm awesome, XD they will pick the top 3. In all seriousness this is a great idea either way, maybe they are just teasing us to see the reaction. Time to work on a weapon for practice then, game on.
ia.Pepper thanks for the comment. I feel the same way about fantasy weapons, that they should be functional no matter how high fantasy it is.. I actually put some thought into this to make it look functional, so thank you.
