Check out Tim Bergholz' tutorials: https://gumroad.com/timb He has one on rendering weapons in Toolbag. "Ultimate Hardsurface Weapon Tutorial Marmoset Renders"
wowzers! i'd love to see a mesh of this to see how you got all those soft details into a hardsurface model like this? I'm guessing it's a lot of zbrushing?
Thanks for the reply Jackablade. This character appealed to me as a "Bioshock" style concept, with a blend of hardsurface and organic modeling. That's the reason I chose this out of a million other concepts :)
Hey! I really like her face and your hardsurface work. I think your materials need some more definition, especially on her legs and torso. Do you have a concept you're working from?
not a huge fan of sculpting I got by with traditional polymodelling for a while now. But a large amount of artists seem to use zbrush for hardsurface modelling But then I came across this post So... is it really a necessary skill or is it just fluff?
Hello all! I'm modeling and texturing a CAT 345D Excavator here is my WIP. I tend to do much more organic models in zbrush. So I'm going to attempt to do this entirely hardsurface model in max. Here is my progression!
Hi, my name is Tomas Tagesson and im a game art student at The Game Assembly in Sweden Malmö. I focus mostly on hardsurface and weapons but i recently got an interest in props. I will use this sketchbook to get feedback and show my work.
I have been working on this project, in my spare time to improve my hardsurface workflow and texturing.Few more shots and viewer on Artstation Any C&C are welcome thanks. https://www.artstation.com/artwork/EVVl5A
I agree with Orb with my eye going under the throne. Maybe if there was a cool light at the bottom, that should help not pull to that area. Also I am jelly of your hardsurface skills. Awesome work so far.
Since it seems that a lot of the body is covered in hardsurface..maybe you want to have a look at modelling/sculpting the cloth as opposed to using Marvelous? I would be a great learning point as well, especially since this is a personal piece(?)
