Great choice of concept and I really like the color plan you have in mind. It's also awesome to see how your early work here is already a level above what you were doing as you finished your last scene! My only crit is that the blockout feels a bit different from the concept in terms of scale, though that could be a…
If your going to start with the low poly first, which at this point it should be called a blockout or mock up mesh. Keep it simple, get the proportions right with it then build your high poly on top of it. Then make your final low poly, otherwise you'll just be wasting time trying to adjust your high poly to your low poly…
Hey there. Thanks. Yeah, I always check proportions this way (since the hand is easily detachable =D). But I always doubt what I see anyway =') Here's what I've got: ____ It occurs to me, that I should've put a firm time limit. It's not like I'm in a hurry, but there are other things I want to try sometime in this…
@Donato Thanks for the tip. You can use the quick pipe addon to have more control over the curves. Its kind of hard to get a sense of scale of the place even with the tiny mannequin at the bottom (almost didn't see it). Update--- Did some blockouts, and separated elements by unique props, constructed by trim sheets,…
Good start! If im allowed to give you one piece of advice its this: create a complete Blockout first! Where every piece fits into each other, not just a bunch of cubes or something.. a nice Blockout, that pretty much resembles the finished lowpoly model, of course not as polished etc. it will help you immensely! because if…
Unfortunately I didn't had the time today to really get into this as far as I wanted. So I just managed to create a rough blockout in max. The goal of it is, to get the general spacing/placement. I ralized that there where some perspective issues in the picture (e.g. the reptile pilot is not in the middle line of the…
It might be more time efficient to combine modules with simple unique meshes that use tiling materials. The modules library can still be expanded when you identify repeating parts during the process and unique geometry replaced with the new modules. If you don't do this already, I think it's good to have a blockout in…
Started working on an underground parking space inspired by a movie scene, since i like the setup and lighting thought of trying to make a similar scene in Unreal. And this time would like to work my way through to final result with advice and feedback. Reference: started with Perspective match , Blockout in 3ds max And…
Hello,I started this project to get a new portfolio piece. Right now I'm still in blockout stage and I have finished some models and textures.I decided to post here early because I'm having some problems which I can't figure out how to solve.:poly136: Problem is in lightmap seams although i have left some space for padding…
So now that the Riot Art contest is done, time to start on a new model. =) Been wanting to make something from the Warmachine universe for a while now, and with the recent release of Warmachine Tactics I am inspired to finally do it. Some amazing art in that game. Going to be making the FireFly warjack! Found some orthos…
