Having a few superficially similar traits obviously means two things are identical. Instead of drawing more detailed comparisons, let's just keep bringing up the fact that they share certain superficially similar traits. That will get the argument somewhere! Borderlands and max payne both use EXACTLY the same type of 32…
Let's start in reverse with #3. Atmosphere: this is completely in your control and it's up to you to decide. What atmosphere are you going for? Industrial? Something like Portal where it feels like a lab environment? You need a clear and cogent idea of what atmosphere you're targeting before you can decide on materials and…
I’ve had an interest in 3D for a long time but only recently took the plunge. After taking some courses, I dedicated the last 4 months to one big project: recreating and tweaking a kitchen environment I found online. My Workflow: * Modeling: Blender * Texturing: Substance Painter & Illustrator * Rendering: Unreal Engine…
Sculpting is really divorced from modelling. They are two totally different things(they arent but they are). You can create basemeshes and whatever in other programs but when you sculpt your not modelling anymore. Its fluid its fast, its fun, its a whole different skillset. Learning it whenever will be no detriment.

Maybe this will be interesting for people like me, who have a poly-modeling background and consider giving CAD a go. First of all I was pleasantly surprised how "artist" friendly Plasticity is. The interface is very…
Like mentioned, studying/observation and practice is the key to improvement (I'll read "AAA" as "high quality"). Also asking for help if you're stuck, so good on you. I think the rough aesthetic is already there, but many elements look like guesswork or a bit random. One thing that stands out immediately is the wobbly…
I decided to re-assess my this pieces' textures ... again :) The original was too plain. The second was too overly chipped and the wear was too "painted on". I have learn much about texturing since then and I believe this is a major improvement. Less chipping, more roughness variation and more based on real examples. I'm…
I second the advice. Long triangles can also introduce shading issues. So here better aim for a cleaner topology instead. The golden rule is as few geometry as possible, but as much as needed. And here the extra geometry would be needed. Edge loops can with a few common techniques also be send in other directions ... As a…

ok to start with your site made me want to kill a cow, those wierdass flash gallerys are so damn annoying having that wonky animation of the windows enlarging THEN to dysplay what we want. The thumbnails are too small , and you have images that are very similar in themselves so no need to have two ( like that character…
