Hi there. I've decided to stop being an observer and actually post on Polycount. I'm looking for feedback and ways to improve this initial sculpture before any fine details or clothing are added. The character is Goro from Mortal Kombat; he will be redesigned as a tribal Warlord inspired by the traditional tribes of Papua…
👋 Hello! Our team is looking to add a 3D Generalist & Concept Artist to our roster. We're working on a small-scale MVP game concept that we can show a slice of gameplay of in 6-8 months. Our current team is 9 people, We are all volunteers with full time jobs that are working on this project for fun in our free time. I've…
In marmoset you can paint the cage distance pretty quickly in those tight spaces and get realtime updates on how it's looking. If your low poly is properly covering the high poly well in the first place your initial offset distance can just be so low that you will get all the high poly under the mesh before you get cage…
I haven't been updating for a bit, because I've been working on the Travel Challenge for Sketchfab :) . Here are some of my updates. Blockout: Sculpting! Initial Painting! It's due by the end of the month, so I'll keep working on that. Also I had some fun experimenting with materials today. They're inspired by Overwatch :)…
11/25/2019 Hello everyone! It's been awhile since I posted any updates, The scene has undergone several transformations. I would like to know your feedback if you have any to share. I made some adjustments from the initial pitch (concept, tone) and decided to go for something different, while updating several models and…
I totally support your suggestions. In fact it's what I hoped Alchemist would be. It had been huge disappointment for me after its initial release. But I spent not very much time with it and still have some hope they might add new features or there is something I might missed. MIxer has a painting ability at least but…
Thanks so much for the reply! I managed to get everything straightened out by applying an auto smooth at 25, then manually tweaking a few areas. I was mainly disappointed that the information didn't carry over between Maya and Max, for whatever reason, and is just something I have to re-do. The initial assets are fairly…
@Joopson You're right. I should have mentioned though that this was just the initial simulation with no sculpting ontop of it. I redid much of the garments but couldn't get the tucked in tank top to simulate right: So, now I'm re-sculpting many of the folds. I think the shirt and the area around the cuffs of the pants…
Hi oxblood :) It seems I think it will be cool for you add some surface details on you walls :) As for textures normally for scifi hallways I just slap on a scratched metal texture on everything that is metal on my scene. And if it doesn't look good I'll swap it some brushed metal texture. Those two are my initial "go-to"…
Yes! I agree! lol I was initially put-off by the blocking mesh... then I saw the ear. I was like awww-yeah! I really think you should take this to lowpoly. It is not like you would be taking the quality down by any... Here is some inspiration... http://cgsammu.files.wordpress.com/2011/06/brawlzerofinal5.jpg…
