We got a chance to see it at GDC, my buddy from work got to play it. In all honesty it did look pretty buggy, but for the amount of time they had on it, I think they did a solid job. The fx were reaallly well done!
Way too much blue magic fx if you ask me. Try making it more transparent and fade out more clearly. Post#9 had a nice effect on the back bird, I'd prefer if you'd go more in that direction.
Are you using an fx shader? Maybe there is some kind of rim light set on it? MoP pretty much said what I was thinking so that's the only other option I could see causing it... Graphics card drivers up to date?
Hi guys I am back with some updates here and there in the favela area. Recently I am working most of the time for programming and sound fx, but I thought my progress is worth showing you. What do you think?
The secret to success at VFS is you already know your way around maya and zbrush before getting in. You just use their industry contacts and sponsored events to network and introduce yourself and portfolio. And use studio time to perfect your reel.
I don't see it carrying any weight whatsoever in the gaming or visual FX industry. However, in the oil and gas, architectural or simulation field, I can see it being something that might make your resume stand out a bit to HR.
Hey Thx for the responses..:) there are some more close up renders, and lighter renders on my webpage. http://www.arjgilmour.com/ ROR! yeah still on the same kick..:) and yes there built to have alot of enemys/fxs on screen. what u up to these days..?
I already feel that good FX artists are worth their weight in gold. I wouldn't suggest anyone specialize, but building a sub-portfolio of tasty weapon/spawn/environmental/etc. effects and expressing an interest in doing it full time would be smart.
what are you looking for in a school? and what do oyu mean by " My problem is accommodation "? i never went to school for my art but it doesn't hurt . i would suggest call up VFS and Ai and set up an interview/meeting :)
Hi everyone, I thought i share what I am currently working on. It is supposed to be Johnny Depp as Hunter S Thompson. Whole thing is rendered in Keyshot. Hair is done with Maya Paint FX converted to polies. I plan to model shirt, hat, cigarette and one or two expression that we are familiar with. Hope you like it.
