hey everybody! new character project on the go here. my concept is going to be more of a sophisticated sci fi character as compared to my last one. its going to be more of an exploring female character so she wont need to much ''heavy'' armor. the main inspiration came from the suits in prometheus as well as Kerrigan from…
This is my first attempt at making a Dota 2 character...ALOT to learn in the DOTA 2 workshop thread but wasnt sure if I should post this there. This is what I have so far...Eunice: she's a rabbit with earth magic that uses rocks as armor... The face...it's pretty much a face plate made of rocks Any feedback on design or…
A few days ago, I was on GameSpot and came across a feature called "Indievelopment." I hadn't heard of it before, so I checked it out. It's a "documentary" (I'm using the term loosely) about a few guys who have plans to start their own game studio. They've all invested a few grand and have quit their jobs to start their…
I'm new to poly count and I'm normally a hard surface modeler but lately I been experimenting with zbrush which lead me to organic modeling. I really enjoy working in zbrush so I decided to make an attempt at a character. Several disproportionate heads later I decided I should get a better understanding of anatomy first so…
Looks cool man! Really digging the armour on his torso. Maybe it would look cool to have the same kind of tattoo that he has on his arms come up on his neck from under the armour.
looking at the concept, the shoulder armour is what should make up the additional "broadness" in her upper body. with that in mind you should really think about going back to basics on her body, get that right, and then move on to the armour.
Made some more progress over the last little bit. Working on getting it detailed and refined with zspheres and creasing + boolean. The upper body and armour is 90% done, I'm working on the little military bags and then moving down to the leg armour and feet before starting retopology.
Yeah, I have a lot to learn. The response and feedback I've been getting is amazing! I'm still learning, so I don't have a definitive pipeline; but this is what I usually do: 1. Take time to decide on a topic; this is pretty important; oftentimes grandiose things like elaborate suits of armour, or dragons, are more flashy…
Finally finished these studies. I also decided to try making a load of material spheres and a short tutorial on rendering armour and understanding light/shadows over on my blog. If you're interested you can find it here: http://samsantala.blogspot.fi/2017/03/armour-studies-material-spheres.html
I'm going as a gladiator :P Got the sword, shield, body armour, helmet and leg armour. I tried to find a firefighter costume, but I couldn't find a costume for an adult guy. Apparently they only make firefighter costumes for liitle boys and skimpy sexy firefighter costumes for the ladies.
