@aumramaram you mean like an ambient cubemap? there's only one skylight (+lumen) for now for all the daytime lighting, i'm trying to get a bleak look (sort of like in The Road) this week I wrapped up more cargo train wagons for the train triage area in the map: made a roof kit to be used on most roofs: and now working on…
Hey guys! I'm currently working on an environment that is set under the ground in a catacomb/cellar. I want to make roots come down from the cieling and cling to the walls and pillars in the room. I'm looking for a way to avoid modelling every single root in Maya and placing them on the exact correct spot in Unreal…
Hi, i finished my first environment piece for my portfolio and i wanted to share it on the forum. It took me 3 months working in the evening after my full time job and at this point i can certainly say that i learned a lot in every department from modeling to texturing and rendering, a great experience. Anyway enough…
Hello Polycounters, I have been working on a Sci-Fi environment for the past 3 weeks in my spare time. I work 9 till 5 Monday to Friday but trying to spend most of my free time on this environment and applying for environment artist positions. I am still working on making more props, finishing the floor textures and…
The roof supports should be curved, and the whole area is too narrow. You could use vertex painting (there are a bunch of examples on youtube) to blend between grating and fungus. The roots would probably be best as geo, and a couple of floating planes around the thickest parts for more volumetric fungus.
Hey, I'm a university student working on a replica room-interior for a project. The room is based off of the roundtable hold dining room from the videogame EldenRing Nightreign. To begin with I have started out with a preliminary blockout looking to recreate the general scale and proportions before going into more detail.…
Looks good! Lovely Cthulhu-esque scene. If I had to crit it I would say look at where the walls meet the floor, its one of the first things I look for. Add dirt in the textures where it would build up against the skirting boards and maybe the piles of dead leaves (decals maybe?) from the concept. Your scene is a little…
Hey Gurus! So I've created the challenge for myself of creating procedural Chinese Roof Shingles. As a first pass, so far so good. Everything is being created procedurally. Here's a close up of shingle: The problem i'm running into is that I'm befuddled on how to create a chipped away 'trim dynamic' brush look on the…
You have maintained the high standards that you set yourselves in the earlier design stages, the visual representations have clearly helped in envisioning the final outcome. The assets such as the rocks, help to flesh out and create the belief that this could be a real location. As well as the models, the lighting and…
