I started a new character already. My first one got turned into a vampire. Now normally I would think that was fucking cool but I really didn't want to be a vampire so soon. I'm just starting in the game. My new toon is more bad ass anyway. What's with the normal maps making the shadows look like ass on all the characters?
I'm really struggling with the camera in MD. I can't seem to find a way to center its pivot on a certain object. Only when I directly click on something and place a gizmo dot it starts to rotate round it. But as soon as I deselect, it goes back to rotating around god knows what and controlling it becomes a real pain in the…
Here is my first inspiration board. I tried to keep it somewhat limited. I could easily spend a week looking up reference, but I only have 6 weeks, so I need to get working. My big environment influences are Bladerunner, Fritz Lang's Metropolis, Republic City from Legend of Korra, and other fictional city designs based on…
Quick update! Trying out some more modular wall pieces and tried out the moon surface using World Machine. As the floor will be a skybox asset it isn't an asset that will get a lot of time poured into it, but I will probably run it through Zbrush for further stylising soon. Interior still needs a lot of work and hopefully…
http://blogs.nvidia.com/blog/2014/11/11/maxwell-apollo-demo/ The demo uses a version of Unreal Engine 4. I always like seeing new tech, and hope we eventually get some sort of voxel global illumination in game engines. I bet there will be more tech demos using it over the next few years. I'll be crying in the corner with…
Hello! I'm making this topic to show some progress as I get through a very ambitious project (for me), trying to reproduce this illustration as a 3D diorama: This is an illustration by a friend, Goblin Spice Trader, who does a lot of very cute (and often NSFW) goblins. I'm pretty sure they're not on this forum, otherwise…
Actually the metal parts are "ceramite" which is a mix out of metal and ceramics (don't look at me, I didn't make that up!) that forms a super hard shell for these battle-suits; that's also why there are no really hard edges and strong/er lights/shades on it - it's not intended to be very reflective as it's pretty much…
Glad you guys like the goon. I got a bit more work done on him last night and I'm a lot happier with how he looks now. Though I'm not sold on the backpack, I do like the way the larger shapes are broken up a little by the straps. I've gotta get to work on the environment and vehicles soon. I'll probably post some of those…
