Great stuff. From a maya to modo switch - what kind of modelling tools would I be gaining or losing? Bar a few oddities (quad bevelling, certain tweaking a model functions) 3dsMax is a very good modeller and there's that frustration of looking for a similar way of doing things rather than just biting the bullet and finding…
I gushed in the other thread already, but It bears repeating -- Ori has to be one of the most beautiful and immersive experiences I've had with games in years. On par with Journey, but far better in the mechanics department :) Is there anyone on the tech side that would be able to break down how your team handled depth of…
Yeah, you're question is a bit confusing. It sounds like you're trying to export the color texture (polypaint) out of ZBrush along with the lighting information in the ZBrush materials? Are you trying to apply a normal map to your object in ZBrush or are you trying to bake one from your sculpt? Exporting your polypaint…
Your really need to drop you subdivison level and work on your face structure. Especially from profile view. The way your eye/ brow area is structured is wrong, so is the nose and mouth. Also your head is far too large from side view. I really recommend getting the structure correct and in place before even thinking about…
That's definitely one of the funnier examples I've seen of it ... But sorry, that is actually not a "weird problem" as far as Autodesk is concerned. Unless a user has taken it upon themselves to make a fix (and I'm not aware any have), you'll need to fully render it or just go ahead and drop your model in to a game engine…

cholden: Only for 2 years! And you can expect a massive art dump when I get back. rooster: I think missionaries are allotted a blog, so I can at least let everyone know what's going on while I'm on the field. I'll have to look into that. Xenobond: It took a lot of thinking for me to come to that conclusion. I looked at…
Check out Advance Wars and Battalion Wars The guy that did the concept art for Battalion Wars has a metric ton of awesome "cute" sci-fi stuff. I can't remember his name off the top of my head but he also worked on Moon as a head VFX guy... with a little hunting you can probably find his site. Don't get caught up in the…
Hey anyone  My name is Toby and I want to tell you some little details about me first. Currently I am studying about 3D Design (making Game Design Documents). Also I am something in Java and C#, which I need for Unity, which is the Game Engine I want to use. But after all I like to learn how to make impressive 3D…
After looking at the skins other contestants submitted, I decided I'd try and stay far away from 80's sci-fi and try to go for a more 70's sci-fi look. I focused more on light blues, greens, and oranges for the art trying to stick to a 70's colour palette. And though she's a bit more covered up than the women in leather…
