Another cross-posted polypaint. 'Not at all looking forward to retop, but I can't wait to bake these so-and-so's... Guedin: thanks a lot. Now I can't think of anything but how Col. O'Neil would deliver that speech in Glory.
I've been working on realistic art for a while now and it helped me land a job. Go me! I've always been interested in the cel shading and painterly style of work. It's something I'd like to work on in my free time and play with, mix it up on my portfolio.
cool man! I think you still might be at procedural stage, but beware of those black dark lines, you might wanna add in some colors to soften the dark tone.
I don't remember why it floats like that, I guess reactor is adding a shell around the mesh for collision, I'll tell ya if I figure it out. edit; found it in the utilities panel mess with the Col. Tolerance, seems to fix that right up
Here's a good flickr gallery from this years' Comic Con in San Diego. Any body go and take some good pics? http://www.flickr.com/photos/teohyc/sets/72157621782417352/ There's a photo in there of that one entry from Zbrush Central's Superhero contest this year. Guess they did up a nice 3d print and made it into a statue.
It seems that LEDs not only produce light but can be made to detect light (I guess it's similar to turning an electric motor to generate voltage). Here's a video of a cool LED/computer interface controlling a matrix of 3d cubes: click for video I have a big box of LEDs, I just wish I had the smarts to replicate this
if you want to get better at 3D art, you're going to have to buy the software and train yourself in your free time Last I checked Novedge had one of the cheapest listings for a Zbrush license (I'm not sure if this is the case anymore, I don't see a perpetual license listed, would want to double-check), you can also buy a…
Wait, I think I understand. The cylindrical part is to encompass the high poly coil and the strand is the cord coming for the coil. Is that correct? I'm a little confused on how the strand would be circular though, even with a shell
This is sort of for me personally, as i often find a thread come up in tech talk, with a common problem and want to link to a thread where i've writen about the issue previously. Instead of making 30 bookmarks or whatever i'm just going to add them here as i find them again. I figured some people may also find this useful,…
You should try disabling Cool&Quiet in the BIOS and see if that fixes it. I just leave Cool&Quiet disabled because I like having all my CPU usage available at any time. If you are running windows XP, try running it in compatability mode. If you right click, on the shortcut or .exe then go to Properties, there will be a…
