Hi I didn't really want to update yet, but I figured I'd get some feedback. I rendered it off with Mental Ray, using TS normals. I did some tests using OS normals in a game engine, I thought those came out a lot better but I didn't get to control the lighting and camera and things as much in engine... what to do.... I'm…
On the note of the missing gizmo, try hitting X. The thing that I think is lacking right now is contrast, in color and lighting. In addition to that, the tiles on the wall look too pillowy, reminds me more of quilting than tiles, the edges need to be sharper and more defined. It might help to break up the tiles with a…
Thanks Skiffy And thanks for digging this thread up again ^^ I still haven't made a sword for her but that's gonna be the next thing to do when I have time But I did put a little more color in her skin, and a bit of a different lighting, maybe it makes her face look a bit more alive. Oh, and right, I killed the color in…
Awesome! Looking forward to it. :D I think your last lighting paint over could use some volumetric lighting, maybe over top the catwalk with some long flourescent lights. But, I might just be a bit of a whore for that kind of lighting.
Hey guys, Just starting out in UDK and assembling a scene and of course ran into some issues. I wanted the water (followed this tutorial http://www.hourences.com/ue3-water-indoors/) to emit a faint glow and tried to fake it by placing a directional light at the water level pointing straight upward (I have it selected in…
Yubbie, thanks for the feedback. I agree, I will definitely do some environment effects once I get the scene complete. I just did some quick lighting, I will do the real lighting after I get the light source meshes done. I will also play with the colors to get some different looks. Right now the color of the stone is…
I think the individual props are great, the composition is probably fine but i'm not expert there, but the lighting is holding the scene back alot. I might expect the lights to be dimmed so the students can focus on the projection, then a bit of sunlight coming down from the holes in the ceiling where the trees go through.…
Did you say you put things like sight and light in the same uv layout as the gun itself? It's better to seperate things like sight, lights and other attachment to their own uv layout.
Hey guys, Been a little bit since I've posted an update - had some other higher-priority things to get done. I haven't had much time to work on my 3d art since this post, but I've spent a bit of Easter sunday playing around with the diffuse and an (new to me) emissive texture. I'll admit, when you add an emissive texture…
I'm writing a code to make the CGToolkit's art of rigging arm in MEL. It was going just fine. I got my IK/FK switch set up, had the elbows constrained, and the wrist working quite easily. Then I moved on to the right arm, and here's what I got: ($armSideLong = "right" and $armSide = "r_") The right arm is broken at the…
