yea, i use polycount for my 3d stuff now. that site was okay for a while but i didnt get the crit i really wanted. I've met some pretty good people here who have helped me out.
if polycount is a huge deal then you could do 5 or 6 planes with an alpha for the square holes and stack them on top of each other mimicking the actual object. its the same way they do 3d fur for games. normals help too.
bacardi 151.. lame get yourself a proper drink... happy birthday polycount.. people should post thier first PnP ever .. from back then.. hahah My one and only ever 3D pimpage (unfinished).. lol made in 2002 !
Hello Anthony, Thanks for sharing those great, clean meshes May I ask you about purely technical details, including polycount, actor count etc ? How much memory do you have for your 3D stuff ?
I was 3D Guy's date to Harl and Tins' wedding. I was refered to as a "polycount groupie". When it came time to join the board, I wanted something more universal that I could use on all boards. Plus nerds are KEWL. *swoon*
Polycount pack was amazing, I extremely enjoyed it. I have a load of ideas for weapons though. The thing is, I am not the best 3D modeler, and my trials ended. I am forced to use blender, I feel so insufficient.
Home is where the Greentooth is. Seriously though, fucking awesome! Polycount has been the single best resource throughout my career in 3D. Lots of friends made, lots of advice and inspiration gotten and looking forward to an awesome future of even more of that.
Lancer611, I am interested in talking about doing the art assets for your future projects (mainly 3D assets.) Feel free to message me on Polycount or send me an email at Dmellott11@yahoo.com if you would like to talk further.
The majority of applications I use (3ds max, photoshop, zbrush, cryengine) have a black and dark grey theme. When I go to a website that's all bright I nearly go blind. I love polycount's theme, fits in snugly.
Yes i have made this thread a while ago, but was experimenting with some projection in 3dsmax since i tried to do the baking into a plane then projecting it back into a 3d UV'ed model. if posting it again is against polycount rules, then i am not aware of it :/
