[ QUOTE ] Hmm sorry I missed this post until now.. So far everything mentioned is right on.. Although ONE weekend certainly isnt enough to take in 1% of the things to do.. I wish you had gotten in touch with me personally.. Hell I would have met you somewhere and took you around myself. Hell I could have given you a…

Welcome to the 'Retro 3D FAQ', a thread dedicated to sharing information about the creation of 3D art for game consoles made before the age of programmable pixel shaders. If you enjoy the look of 3D games from the 90's and early 2000's, and would like to learn how to make such art yourself, this is the thread for you! :)…
Apparently nobody there sees it as an issue or it is "THAT hard to reproduce"... But I'm in the same position right now. 2024 and still a problem. (Or again?) Not sure what causes it. It's the first asset I'm working on that suffers from the issue. Same workflow, same pipeline. Now I just updated to version 2024 and all of…
The key trick will be getting it to work in Unity. Translating a complex rig is a trial-and-error kind of thing. I would start simple in Max, and import into Unity regularly, because it's going to break often.

Great work, seriously fantastic! Most of my critique will focus on the presentation of it though. Your stills: There is no reason for them to be 8k! Offer them in standard quality and if you feel it necessary, offer a download link to a zip file in 8k. Also, I looked at the stills before I watched the video and they're not…
Hi John, It's not that it's bad, you clearly understand the relationships between different types of materials and how to make them work together. What IS missing however is context in what you're trying to make; or rather, you're not attempting to tell a story with your textures aside from "Hey! This is some dirty…
Your assets look okay but need a bit more character, don't be afraid to leave 90 degree land, thicks and thins to add character/style. For low poly work it's too expensive for textures, your not getting the benefit of having all unique UV space (which looks like what you've got going on). I'd invest some time on something…
