On the note of the missing gizmo, try hitting X. The thing that I think is lacking right now is contrast, in color and lighting. In addition to that, the tiles on the wall look too pillowy, reminds me more of quilting than tiles, the edges need to be sharper and more defined. It might help to break up the tiles with a…
Thanks Skiffy And thanks for digging this thread up again ^^ I still haven't made a sword for her but that's gonna be the next thing to do when I have time But I did put a little more color in her skin, and a bit of a different lighting, maybe it makes her face look a bit more alive. Oh, and right, I killed the color in…
I don't have too much experience with baked lighting in UE4. Can anybody share documentation/ videos that run through best practices for lights and reflections? I've been on google but most of what I find is overview stuff. Would love to see stuff that has helped other solid artists!
Hey guys. Just a quick question. I'm texturing a wall, but there is hardly and normal map detail in lit mode? Yet when I go into detail lighting mode, it shows up like I want. IS there anyway to get this detail when in lit mode? Or is it something to do with my crappy lighting at the moment.
Hello After baking complete light i get only diffuse texture without a shadows or light. When i am disabling visibility of highpoly model (which i dont have, just using lowpoly as hp), it gives me a black color texture What am I doing wrong?
I'm doing a concept art course at the moment, and we spent a while doing life drawing. Once thing I realised, which I think might help you, is to get the initial linework right, then the rest will follow. You seem to be a really confident painter, but I think it's the step before painting that might lt your work down.…
Honestly, though the model had gotten a lot better, I think the high-poly could've still used a lot of work, especially in regards to likeness. As far as texturing goes.. there are tons of tutorials out there. Here's one I like: http://pig-brain.com/tut01/tut01_01.htm Right now the eyeballs are terrifying though. You might…
Thanks for your comments. Yeah, I spent a while testing different settings with the cloth, it's quite unpredictable in UDK, hence the bug at the start of the video. I'll have to look more into how the cloth works. As for the jitter, it might be happening because all the separate cloth elements meet at the top, but I can't…
Thanks, yup the light and the texturing is quite a challenge indeed :) I'm working on modeling more detailed assets right now, but I think that before moving to texturing, I'll need to setup the lighting more properly; otherwise it's going to be tricky to get the textures looking right in the scene :p
if it is good art, it is good art. So long as the same character is not seen all over artstation I doubt it's an issue if you followed a tutorial. I think this is pretty well executed, but it could probably be pushed a ways further for it to get in the realm of AAA degrees of polish. The gun stands out as feeling a lack in…
