Hey all To make things more digestible, I've decided to focus mainly on the break room for the next few weeks of the project. This gives me a smaller space to worry about in this large scene. I've mainly been focusing on a refrigerator for the break room. The textures are super rough right now, but the base materials are…
Little update on the clothes. Decided to keep the details big n chunky, so I swapped out the shoelaces with thicker, higher contrasting ones. Still need to crisp up the seams and render the wrinkles more in some areas (mostly around the ankle cuff on the pants, and on the leather jacket. I made the shoes a bit larger and…
In the concept, there isn't a lot of drity/ grime on anything really. The visual noise is made up by trash concentrated in a central focal point and blood spatters on the concrete barrier nearest the camera. This gives the viewer some resting points. I really like the toned down version of the concept and would like to see…
The door looks wrong. The orignal door has a little more heigth than width but in your blockout is it reversed. The outer window frame is smaller and the inside bigger. Your stretched the whole mesh when i look at the door frame and its looks bad. Dont say "its ready" and sculpt like hell with a incomplete or wrong…
I totally agree with PixelMasher, I have worked with a lot of students over the years. Most environment artist use their compositional Artistic knowledge to make their work better. Knowledge in the fundamentals like Light and Shadow, Color design and Com positional theory make it into the environments way more than 2D…
Both your rocks and your concrete look way too smooth. It's a common problem with ZBrush that a lot of the tools end up being really blobby/organic, and you've got to be careful to keep the harder lines. Remember, concrete has larger stones in it. Don't be afraid to make it chunky. Yours looks like it's got minor skin…
@MarcoAntonio Haha thanks for the kind words :) To answer your questions, Its made 100% by me and all assets are from scratch. I worked about 10 weeks on it. I started off by making a blockout and experimenting with how I could make it modular. pretty much all pieces (even most of the props) are textured with a trim-sheet.…
Hey polycounters, Here I'll be sharing my progress of a scene I built for the Sketchfab 'Sci Fi Circus' challenge. Although I've completed the piece, I'd like to share the progress I captured along the way. Hopefully it may provide some use to one of you. ----------------------------------------------------- 0. Story It's…
Hi everyone! I started modelling this scene a little while back and haven't really touched it in a while due to the end of University and also moving house. As a graduate I'm now looking for a job in the industry as an Environment modeller so I figured I need to step up my Portfolio game and get something out there that is…
Hey Everybody! I've been working on a portfolio project based on a concept art piece by Kevin Aymeric. I am pretty excited about my first attempt at a semi - realistic scene with cartoon elements. I am trying to use this project as a stepping stone into using UDK. I'll probably need all the help I can get since its been a…
