I can export a skeletal mesh for use in a project however when I import into UDK to see if it works, the whole mesh is smoothed with no sharp edges. I've tried applying the edgesplit modifier and that still didn't work. The whole model is just smoothed. Am I doing something wrong? Or is it a problem with the exporter? Are…
LATEST PROGRESS: Yo! Currently doing a student assignment where we're meant to create a character/creature, rig and animate it and then throw it into UE4. Figured I'd make a thread going over my progress. Ended up creating some sort of mechanical medusa-type creature which I thought seemed a lot more interesting than the…
Hi everyone. Here's a link to my portfolio and student reel I just finished. www.b-boyd.com I would love to hear any feedback you guys can give me on either my work or website. Everything was rendered, so no real time yet. The point of me joining polycount was to assist making a gaming porfolio, so that's next on my list…
our prison system is really fucked. But... its more of the social influence thats a problem though. I used to help out with guys in halfway houses to help them stay on a good path. I've probably helped a couple dozen guys get their GED or get a chance to calm down and change their mindset on life. You can show someone here…
No, the one year program wouldn't be considered a degree for immigration purposes. I'd suggest you get a degree in computer science while continuing to teach yourself VFX from online resources. You'll get your degree for immigrating, and programming skills are very handy for a VFX artist. You'd also potentially be well…
CGMA is very solid. I used to teach for them and I knew a few of the other teachers and they were all industry vets. One exhibit comes to mind quite a bit, from the guys at Photonic Playground. It is run by a couple Blizzard guys, hope they dont mind the plug :) . I haven't been able to…
I really have no idea, that's why I was asking. :) Do any of you think it would be possible to use a laser 3d scanner; something similar to this? For all those who don't know, when going for a degree in Australia you apply directly for it's specialization eg: Degree in Communications Design, Degree in Architecture, Degree in Biology etc etc. There is no "empty" formative year for those who don't know what they're doing. Admittedly most uni's here will remain…
Not everyone here will give constructive criticism... Hi, I'm a uni student too I studying games design at Leeds met (2nd year) what year are you?? What I'd suggest to improve howeve is look at some real life anatomy. Each person is roughly 8 1/2 heads in height. Your character looks rather like 10. Your legs are a little…
