yeah the elements on the mouth looks preety awful. Maybe its just because the lips are closed, but they look like flat paper facing in opposite directions, which makes it look like one side of his mouth is in an under bite and the other is in an overbite? hmmm, yea the head area needs to be a little wider. Had it larger in a sketch I did before this one, not sure why it shrunk. Looks good, but as you say, it is a little flat. As it is painted metal on the head, you could probably chip some of it away to show the metal underneath. The paint would most likely be chipped off on the edges, but try not to make it to uniform (all around the edges). The paint on the wood could also be slight…
