This is my blockout so far :D Edit:I have finished the high poly. I don't think I will make a pass on zbrush, the subd model looks good enough for the bake. What do you guys think?
Anyone know how to back up the photoshop preferences after you've set them the way you like them. Saving the panel layouts and hotkeys is easy enough through the work space save but I'd like to save/load my general preferences.
Well, I wasn't sure about posting a late Art Challenge post (or where to post it if it was late), but since @LeonDreiling is doing it, I guess I will too. I started on this with only three or four days left of the 100th Art Challenge, and thought I'd just churn out a quick low or mid-poly prop. Some better planning at the…
I like where this is going. I think your mom might be reacting to the lighting on the grayboxed meshes, how they have darker shadows. One quick fix could be to add a darker sky up above, and optionally a bit of vignette. These make it instantly a bit more dangerous looking.
You could start by comparing the file sizes before and after the problem started to occur. If you recent files are much lighter than your older ones, then it's a saving issue. If they are about the same size, then it's a loading issue. I suppose it could also be related to whatever Zbrush does with its so-called…
Welcome to Polycount! This is a sweet design, it's nice to see non-conventional mechanical designs like this. The biggest thing for me is how difficult it is to get a "read" on the shapes. I think this happens because the materials are all very similar across the whole asset, so it's difficult for the eye to parse what the…
So I've re-doing a past project to get better results and further my skills. I plan on creating multiple attachments and some variations. Some references and blockouts below. And what I have right now:
These are great, keep going! When I was lighting game levels, one approach that really helped me was to gather interesting imagery, anything that caught my eye, then use that as inspiration for my lighting work. For example, one of my tasks was relighting the same game level assets in different styles. This reminds me of…
I'm really really hoping someone has encountered this before and knows of a solution. I've never had this happen before. Here's a picture of what's going on: I hit undo, and it goes back to normal, but the saved version is fubar, just like the one on the right. HALP!? edit: I deleted the subd history on the subtool and…
