Updated with a parallax and subsurface map , ( for skyrim standaards ) I have no idea what is a parallax in skyrim as it has nothing to do with displacement , it looks like a colored map , I just copied how was done for the glaciers , so the thing becomes slight translucent and changing on angle .... what you think hopw…
since I actually happen to know a few this about the advanced landwarrior program I can't take halo so called "OMFG FUTURISC SERIOUS" seriously when the tanks move like glaciers! Without that, it's just another shooter without anything unique about it. I never found it fun; found it too spartan! (hehehe)
Still working in the Sci Fi corridor industry. Moving slow like a glacier. Rest is here: http://polycount.com/discussion/187444/ue4-wip-alien-star-citizen-inspired-sci-fi-corridor#latest
Hi! What about a mix of 3 and 4 which will give you an aurora borealis look? If you go for a more arctic theme, you can put your characters on glacier instead of rocks, it will made them pop. Also regarding lighting you can have a green light in the sky, blue in the water, and a lot of reflection on ice.
- Crazy Bump & FLICKER.com. Search "Rock Face" / "Rock Climbing" / or "MONUMENT VALLEY" - Download GOOGLE EARTH or just go here. http://www.panoramio.com/map - Pictures of Ice / glaciers are great also Patrick Thomas http://patrickthomas3d.blogspot.com/
I'm actually visiting glacier park so I didn't have too long to do this but I spent around an hour total with the process breakdown. I hope this help explains a bit about what I was mentioning before.
Some early thumbnail ish sketches. Found some nice ref for stalactites and glacier caves Thinking about having the throne domineering, silhouetted Man made tall thin arch in background, contrast nature? Probably wouldn't be this zoomed out
+1 on all this. Amazon Glacier is super cheap offsite backup if you are strapped for cash (roughly 0.70USD/100gb at the time of writing); there's a little bit of a delay for retrieving your files if you want them back, but that's much better than losing the data. Lifehacker did an article about setting it up here.
Thanks guys. You really think it's cut limestone? I've looked at pics of limestone and limestone quarry's and the rock is significantly different. Look here:http://www.dcnr.state.pa.us/topogeo/photogallery/images/quarry.jpg Whereas I was thinking it would be some other form of sedimentary rock like this:…
Im using Unreal 4. #1 is a tiling rock texture, #2 is a glacier wall texture and number 3 is a snow buildup texture. I was wondering what you guys thought of the breakdown and If I should build a blend shader with 3 channels or should I just have a bunch of separate planes with the textures assigned to them? Thanks!
