Thanks for the reply. I thought about the dilation feature/edge padding. But it adds an extra step and is far from perfect when decals are close together for example. I already apply the alphas using the Vray blend material. The problem lies with the difference between Straight (un-premultiplied) and premultiplied alphas… -

its all about the folder structure aint it? i just use a folder per character and subfolders for bakes, texture psd´s, engine files, highpolys, low polys etc. works pretty fine for me. if you have to adjust your HP after already starting your lowpoly texture, your fucked anyways. i´d just create a completely new folder if… -

JPG is a lossy format, which means every time you save, it adds more noise. Not a good idea for texturing. Better to use a lossless format, like PSD (if you're using Photoshop) or TGA or TIF. Re-saving these formats will never add noise, because they are lossless. JPG doesn't have an alpha channel, which is often needed… -
