But you have to be careful, too much pre-bend on the back can make you model looks weird when you actually rig her and bend her body forward (on the spine)..just make sure its just 'enough' pre-bend on the back :) you can also pre-bend the elbow and knee, make it looks more relax in position. Another thing, for me her leg…
I love it too! Damn, that's some awesome high poly modeling. Crits: - The normal map on the face looks kind of fubar in some parts, around the ears, eyes and nose. - The head/hair is obviously mirrored. It's not anything big, but you might want to disguise the seam (in the hair) a little better, or un-mirror the head. -…
Another updates, just small tweaks really. I gave the face more color, I went for a version inbetween mine and zwebbie's. I also added a hairline, which was a big old pain in the bottom. Made the shadow under her breast less black and more saturated and gave the gloves a bit more color. Thanks shotgun, I still have to read…
Well, we all live and learn. The lesson to take away from this is that desktop systems are ALWAYS going to be more powerful and game-friendly than laptops. If you only want to play Angry Birds, than a laptop will probably suffice. If you want to play more advanced PC fare, you will eventually come back to the desktop. My…
It's a lot of good advice for junior artist and just general advice. But what we never see is advice for the senior and what they can do to help the junior. It's always "juniors should be doing this, not that." I was studying the art style of a very popular hit game recently. Perhaps the biggest selling point of the game…
Hi everyone I am a newbie to 3d stuffs and I made my first Orc model on low poly. and because this is my first model, I dont even have it in T pose. I feel like my model was not readdy to rig but i still rig it. The problem i am having is When I move everything inside the global control and I moved the global control. The…
Hi guys, I'm learning rigging in Maya and have run into a problem and hope someone can help. After getting to the point where I am now weighting my mesh, I decided I had better add my rig to a global move control. After doing this, I discovered that my rig is experiencing double transformation when I move or scale the…
Ive never had any luck with mirroring scripts mostly because the rigs I deal with haven't had much love, but a quick guide usually helps so il duplicate the mesh/character without the rig, merge it all together as one mesh, then mirror. Il do this for all my extreme poses and begin adjusting the rig to match up.. Not ideal…
Okay, here's an updated render. Tried to go for that famous Adam Hughes Baroness pose with this one. Thanks to my homeboy for getting the rig done. Had to manually move the face verts though, but it worked out. Toned the maps down, too. From what I know, if you're going to be a character modeler, you either have to learn…
In short you're doing it wrong. The ik solvers in max work in a single plane so in this case youll never get a correct knee bend. Run the controller from the thigh to the foot and for now, drop the extra knee joint(walk before you run) If memory serves you can just link a swivel target into the controller from the motion…
