I recommend starting smaller projects. Instead of making for a full street scene, start with a fire hydrant or a lamp post. Instead of making a full character, start with a sword. Try to nail down the style you're aiming for. Then slowly work your way up to bigger projects.
I started to block out the environment over the weekend a bit. Here is the concept, it's from the first Mass Effect I think. Hopefully this week I can wrap up the block out and start to pull all of the assets into their own files and start the high poly versions.
Working in node-based systems. They were confusing at first, until I started using Nuke for compositing years ago. When I started using Substance Designer 4 I believe, and UE4 during the time it had a monthly subscription, it started making a bit more sense.
So I wanted to try dDo out today, but it doesn't start, I get to the licence and try screen, continue, photoshop starts up but nothing more, the icon is in the start field and its running a small window that I can't get to any ideas? im running cs5
quick update on sculpt. Started to get blockout bits in zbrush and started a rough sculpt. The tree still needs loads of work. Started working into the stone base. Proportion wise its pretty close apart from the tree, i might thicken that up. Anyway crits welcome :)

I couldnt sleep so i descided to break out zbrush which i havent done in a long time. I had a base mesh head laying around so i grabed it, uved it and started sculpting.
