Hey Southpaw, this is looking really nice, there is a really cute stylization about it all that I'm really enjoying! The problem with the large leafs, as cool as they look, is that they bring a lot of attention to the flatness of the alpha planes. The benefit of having smaller leafs is that the surface becomes more…
He looks pretty plain, so I don't know what to say. If you plan on keeping him this way, then I would suggest improving the material definition at least so rubber reads like rubber and leather reads like leather. Also, you specular seems a tad off? I thought that the red stripe at first was supposed to be paint or a strip…
Hey Brad, looks really solid here sir. come a long way on this character. I think microneezia made a good point about white shirt = armpit stains, and I think that should also apply to much more than just the underarm. Perhaps consider the top parts of his hat being more sun bleached and desaturated, and maybe the cloth on…
https://imgur.com/a/xpeOX86 I have read a lot about maya and UV, but I still have some confusion on uving multiple objects in maya. I am creating a scene to create a short cinematic video in unreal engine and colouring the model in substance painter, but I am still confused with uving my model. This is some of the problems…
"Drawing For Product Designers" by Kevin Henry http://www.laurenceking.com/en/drawing-for-product-designers/ I've read the Scott Robertson books on drawing and rendering and they're really good but the info can be overwhelming. I think this book by Kevin Henry does a better job providing context, the "whys". It has step by…
Doh :( There's almost certainly a way to do it through script. It's a shame that just the basic Cut UVs doesn't do this? I would have thought that would be the sensible way. Max's "break" does that and breaks off the selected elements into their own new shell (which makes sense).
It's the neck that throw me off a bit, idk if its just me but it kinda breaks the flow, there's a smooth transition through out the body then the neck sticks up from the chest breaking the flow of the spine, line of action thing. But it's a Mech so it could turn out great.
Don't forget as cute as kids can be they are notorious for breaking shit. So before you give your kids all your priceless childhood possessions test the waters with some of the new crap and see if they break them or treat them like you would/did. B
Yea its all unwrapped, I posted this late lastnight while on break from work. Just wondering about the coloring, and design. Im going to dirty it up a little to break the even feeling with the vents but just wondering why I should delete the whole ventilation?
Also I should note that if you do put your macroscripts in this folder you will have the same global undefined problem that you had before depending on which order max reads in the files. It may read in the macros before the global.ms file you have. But if you set it up my way you wont have that problem since putting "()"…
