Hey Polycounter, So i'm working away making some light maps and all is going well until.... I get some crazy splodges of light all over my mesh. -I have upped the resolution to 1024 to be sure -Checked the light map for overlapping UV's -Re-packed them a couple of times to try out different layouts -applied a material to…
I'll echo the comments on the lighting not being focused enough. I would work on giving it more mood. By that I mean darken it up a bit and push the light pools a bit harder. Remove the light sky and drop in something a bit creepier. Also while on the lighting saturate it more. Watch 24 or any CSI for some tv reference of…
Your lighting is actually there and is pretty nice, if you adjust the brightness and contrast up a few notches =) I think you did a great job just have a little more confidence when you paint your lighting and remember you can always adjust the brightness contrast later to pull out that extra something it might be missing…
The render preview window will capture default lighting from your scene, which is based on the camera's potion/angle to the object if you move the camera, it will give you different results in the render preview window. BUT you shouldn't save what it shows you in the render preview window. In fact turn it off, because what…
I think your lighting is hurting the scene, especially the Unity renders. Right now everything is way too bright which makes everything feel flat. It seems like the scene is lacking any sort of ambient occlusion or shadowing so nothing feels grounded.
Serious Fun! I downloaded this last night on the PSN (japan)... I was really expecting to be let down, but it seems to pack in just the right amount of humor/gameply to keep me wanting more. I can't wait to buy the full version and get back in the fight!
What's your goal right now with these? Like the anatomy topic has been repeated quite a few times and you acknowledged that in your previous post so I was wondering what your objective is with these speedsculpts? As far as I can see, you hit a wall really fast. If you compare the first post with the last one they are quite…
i am doing a sci fi based basement interior in unreal engine but having problem with lighting the scene as directional light just cut through the back face of the model having this wierd shadows from above and if this is not the proper way how do i light the scene
If you want to go for the mirrors edge look the 1st thing to change should be your skybox. the grey overcast one is depressing and doesn't suit any type of stark lighting. right now Im assuming your key light is in a similar position to the sun? I would suggest moving it so it intersects the scene at a 45 degree angle or…
Hey guys im having a few problems with my Normal maps in UDK the light seems to be wrong here are the 2 different models with one normal right way up and the other with the normals reversed: Normal Reversed Normals As you can see the lighting is completely wrong instead of illuminating the right areas its adding light to…
